The 41th Silent Reading Night in Sapporo

You always want to read books properly, but you can't concentrate because of work, housework, and notifications from your smartphone...
That's why we planned an event where you "just read books in silence."
📚 Date and Time: 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
📚 Location: bokashi base
📚 What to Bring: A paper book (You can also borrow from the bokashi bookshelf)
No reservation required / Free entry / Come and go as you please / Drinks allowed / No talking or working / Taking notes is OK
Just bring the paper book you want to read. We hold onto your smartphones and other electronic devices.
Let's read books together in a quiet and calm environment!
After 9:30 PM, we will have a free discussion time where participants can talk about what they read.
If you have time, please join us.
Tourists are welcome too. Let's talk about books with locals in Sapporo!

April 2026 Theme: War & Peace
As wars continue across the world with no end in sight,
we found ourselves wondering what a quiet reading gathering like ours can offer.
This time, we invite you to bring and read books about war and peace,
and share a moment of reflection together.

(Of course, non-art books are welcome too!)

いつも、本をちゃんと読みたいと思っているけれども、仕事や家事、スマホから流れてくるお知らせで集中して読めない・・・
だからこそ「ただ黙って本を読む」だけのイベントを企画しました。
📚 開催日時:19:00 - 21:30
📚 開催場所：bokashi base
📚 持ち物：紙の本（bokashiの書棚からも借りられます）
予約不要/参加無料 / 途中入退場自由 / 飲料OK / 私語と仕事禁止/メモはOK
読みたい「紙の本」だけ持ってきてください。スマホなどの電子機器は受付で、お預かりします。
静かで落ち着いた環境で、一緒に本を読みましょう！
21:30以降は、参加者同士で読書内容について自由に話し合う時間を設けます。お時間のある方は、是非ご参加ください。
＊観光で札幌に来られた方の参加も、大歓迎です！

2026年4月のテーマは「戦争・平和」です。
いま世界では終わりが見えない戦争が続いております。
そんななか、読書会には何ができるだろう？と考えました。
今回は「戦争」や「平和」についての本を、みんなで読んでみたいと思います。
