「日本在住外国人音楽家」に焦点を当てた公開コンサートです。クラシック音楽、器楽演奏、声楽、そして各アーティストの文化的背景に根ざした音楽表現を通して、故郷と異郷のあいだに生まれる精神的な帰属感を紹介します。

プロジェクト背景
本公演「日本在住外国人音楽家コンサート」は、「日本在住外国人アーティスト全国公募」プロジェクトの一環として実施されるものであり、日本に長年在住し、創作活動を続けている外国人アーティストおよび音楽家に焦点を当てています。
本プロジェクトは、日本社会におけるこのコミュニティの可視性を高め、アートと音楽を通して多文化共生を促進することを目的としています。
本公演にはチケット収入がなく、出演者への賞金や出演料もありません。そのため、本公演は単なる演奏会にとどまらず、日本に根を下ろし活動する世界各国の音楽家たちが、同じ舞台で「見られ、聴かれる」機会をつくる、社会的・文化的意義の深いパブリック・アート・プロジェクトでもあります。
故郷と異郷のあいだの音楽
音楽家たちは、「故郷」と「異郷」のあいだに立ち、文化的記憶、移動の経験、そして自己のアイデンティティを音楽によって表現します。
本テーマは、単なる距離の問題ではなく、二つの帰属のあいだに育まれる独自の声に焦点を当てています。それは、国境を越え、慣れない土地に根を下ろした人々だからこそ生み出すことのできる音楽です。

本コンサートを開催する理由
本公演は、単なるコンサートではなく、「日本在住外国人音楽家」が社会に認識されるためのプラットフォームでもあります。音楽を通して、多文化への理解と尊重、そして外国人アーティスト・コミュニティへの関心を促進することを目指しています。
「Liminal Spaces of Belonging」――帰属の境界にある空間は、故郷を離れ、別の国に根を下ろしたすべての人々に共通する内面的な風景です。音楽は、その空間を越えていくための、もっとも真正な言語であるといえます。
本コンサートのテーマは、芸術的なキュレーション・コンセプトであるだけでなく、参加する音楽家一人ひとりの実際の人生経験を反映するものでもあります。文化的記憶から、「帰属の境界」を経て、異国の地で新たに再構築されるアイデンティティへ――その過程を語る力こそが、音楽のもっとも深い物語性なのです。

1st Annual Concert of Foreign Musicians Living in Japan
Liminal Spaces of Belonging "Music between homeland and foreign land"

A public concert focused on “foreign musicians living in Japan,” presenting the spiritual sense of belonging between homeland and foreign land through classical music, instrumental performance, vocal music, and musical expression from each artist’s cultural background.

Project Background
This concert, “Concert of Foreign Musicians Living in Japan,” is part of the “Japan Nationwide Call for Foreign Artists Living in Japan” program, and focuses on foreign artists and musicians who have been living in Japan for many years. The project aims to increase the visibility of this community in Japanese society and promote multicultural coexistence through art and music.
There is no ticket revenue for this event, and the performers receive no prize money or compensation. So it is not only a performance, but also a public art project with deep social and cultural significance—one that allows musicians from around the world who have rooted themselves in Japan to be seen and heard on the same stage.
Liminal Spaces of Belonging / Music Between Hometown and Foreign Land
Musicians stand between “hometown” and “foreign land,” expressing cultural memory, migration experiences, and self-identity through music. This theme is not about distance, but about the unique voice that grows between two forms of belonging — music that only those who have crossed borders and taken root in unfamiliar soil can create.

Why We’re Hosting This Concert
This is not just a concert, but also a platform for “foreign musicians living in Japan” to be seen by society. Through music, we aim to promote understanding and respect for multiculturalism and foreign artist communities.
“Liminal Spaces of Belonging” — a threshold space of belonging, is a shared inner landscape for everyone who has left their homeland and taken root in another country. Music is the most authentic language for crossing this space.
This concert’s theme is not only an artistic curatorial concept, but also a reflection of the real lived experiences of every participating musician. From cultural memory, through the “threshold of belonging,” to a newly rebuilt sense of identity in a foreign place — this is music’s deepest narrative power.
