グループの特徴

TG Badminton Club regularly organizes casual badminton sessions for various level players on weeknights and weekends at some indoor gyms in the central Tokyo area. About 70% of the members are foreigners and about 30% are Japanese. We normally play doubles but sometimes singles, too, depending on the no. of players that will show up on the day. 

Badminton schedule will be posted on the website and will be sent by email, too.

Reservation is strictly required to control the number of players.

HOW TO JOIN:

• Badminton schedule will be posted on the website, sent by email, and posted with weekly updates here in this group.

• Sign up for a session by emailing badminton@tokyogaijins.com with your name, cellphone no. and skill level (Beginner, intermediate or advanced).

• Wait for an email confirmation.

• Show up in your badminton attire with your racket on the day.

• Map and direction to each venue and other special instructions will be explained in the email so make sure to subscribe.

• Pay the fee on the court to the person-in-charge before the start of the session.

• Play and have fun!


RULES AND GUIDELINES:

• Maximum of 6-8 players per court for a 2 hour session.

• Maximum of 8-10 players per court for a 3.5 hour session.

• Around 2-4 badminton courts per session.

• Players will be divided based on skill levels.

• Showing up alone is totally fine.

• You will be paired with a similar skill level players to play doubles.

• Everyone plays the same amount of time (in theory).

• The person-in-charge of the session is totally in control of the substitution of players.

• Kids are strictly prohibited.

• Make sure you bring/wear proper badminton attire.

• Indoor sports shoes (you don't wear outside) are strictly required.

• Basic racquet rental available for 500yen.

• Smoking, eating, and drinking alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

• No fighting or use of abusive words and unacceptable behaviors towards the organizer and other players.

• The organizer and the person-in-charge of the game reserves the right to cancel or reject your membership at any time if you violate these guidelines.


INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCE LEVEL:

• Train regularly

• Know how to make suitable short and flick serves

• Able to hit effective smashes, drops, clears, and net shots consistently

Have good footwork on defensive/offensive positions and transitions

Return (lift) smashes and drop shots

• Please be aware that we are PROVIDING SERVICE not doing business.

• We discourage you from playing with us if you have an issue paying the participation fee.
