Fun social Easter Monday run #2726
Join us for a trail run/jog/walk!
Note this is Easter Monday, a public holiday in Denmark and therefore we start already at 14:30h
We encourage you to wear Easter / Springtime costumes. Feel free to join the silly pack. Only for this special occation there will also be Easter activities.
We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”.
How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize.
Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30.
Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed for 44 years, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 20 to 50 people) just show up.
Four-legged friends are welcome!
We never cancel.
See you there!
Natural Candle-Making with Pure Beeswax 06.04
Join a calming and creative workshop where we work with pure, natural beeswax. Over 2.5–3 hours, participants will make several types of candles – free-standing rolled candles, hand-dipped tapers, and poured tealights. Along the way, you’ll learn about the unique properties of beeswax and its fascinating origin in the beehive.
All materials are included.
**Les Amis** is a women-only community of friendly souls. We provide access to hundreds of experiences that explore your passions and connect you with other event participants. **Check our website to learn more, and apply to join our community and events**: [lesamis.cc/apply](https://www.lesamis.cc/apply)
Copenhagen Language Exchange (Free Monthly Meetup)
**Copenhagen Language Exchange – Free Monthly Meetup**
Join us for Copenhagen’s international language exchange night! 🌍
This is a relaxed, social meetup where locals and internationals come together to practice languages, meet new people, and have great conversations.
We meet on the **first Monday of every month from 19:00 to 22:00**.
It’s **free to join**, and everyone is welcome — whether you’re a complete beginner or a fluent speaker.
### What to expect
* Casual conversations in different languages
* Meet people from many countries and cultures
* Practice speaking in a friendly, supportive environment
* No teachers, no pressure — just real conversations
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by one of our **Swaplanguage Ambassadors**.
They’ll help you feel comfortable, introduce you to others, and show you how you can get started learning and practicing languages on **swaplanguage.com**.
You can speak any language you like — English, Danish, Spanish, French, German, or anything else people bring.
Come alone or bring a friend — you’ll always find someone to talk to.
We look forward to seeing you! 😊

Practical Philosophy Meetup - Copenhagen 🇩🇰
**🏛️ WHAT'S PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY ABOUT?**
Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎
Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic.
The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌
**📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?**
Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the [Whatsapp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CRqdyO6p6lZDIN2qVRIlWX), along with jump-off points to get the conversation going.
When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow as opposed to having our meetups feel like a discourse or lecture.
**General Meeting Agenda**
Each Practical Philosophy meet-up follows this general timeline:
* 19:00-19:15 - People arrive and chat, get to know each other before the ‘official' start.
* 19:15-19:25 - Meeting introduction, explanation of Practical Philosophy and the topic for the week, read the guidelines and the overview so attendees know what to expect in terms of timelines.
* 19:25-20:45 - Break into small groups - introduce yourselves and general thoughts on the topic, open discussion afterwards. At this point the group can review the ‘jump-off’ questions as needed, but they are just there to help guide the conversation. It’s not obligatory to answer them.
* 20:45-21:00 - Bring everyone back together to discuss conclusions of the topic - each group gives a short 1-minute summary. Organizer concludes the meeting and everyone takes a group photo.
* 21:00 - The official meeting is over but it’s a great opportunity to get to know people in a non-structured environment, so we often stick around, chat, and get to know each other.
**🧧PRICING?**
Practical Philosophy Club is FREE to attend! We just ask that if we are meeting in a café, buy a beverage! Some chapters rent a space for us to meet, and they may ask for donations to help contribute to the cost of rent. Donations will always be 100% voluntary though!
**💛 WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY**
🗣 “I feel like Philosophy Club helps someone build their own belief system through a series of perspectives while not promoting what’s right and wrong” - Ekam
🗣 “I got hooked from day 1 (the topic was authority) and felt it was the right place for me. I feel it is a place where people can go to learn and discuss new perspectives and increase critical thinking and community by interacting with people who might challenge your point of views but at the same time encourage you to have openness and mind flexibility.” - Daniel
**🤓 FAQ**
* What will we talk about? What's the topic?
The topic for the week is shared every Sunday in the Whatsapp group. We try to add the topic to the comment section on this event page as well but if you don’t see it, the topic and the jump-off points will be in our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CRqdyO6p6lZDIN2qVRIlWX).
* Do I need to study or read anything to attend?
No preparation is necessary. This isn’t a study of other thinkers. We want to know what YOU think about the topic, not what an old philosopher thought. If you have a perspective from a religion or a school of thought to share, throw it on the table and we’ll discuss it, but it's not required.
* Is there a specific philosophy that Practical Philosophy is focused on?
The goal of our meet-ups is to not have dogmatic discussions, and flex our critical thinking muscles. Because of this, we want to hear from every realm of thought, and don't study a particular school.
* Is it mostly men that attend?
Surprisingly, no! Although philosophy is seen as a Candelabra affair in a dark room with a bunch of guys, our Practical Philosophy meetups are generally 50/50 between genders, and we don’t meet in any dark rooms.
* Can I come alone?
Of course you can, we encourage it :)
* Can I be late?
Please don't be! We do have a 15 minute grace period where we allow people to funnel in while we hang out, but after that if you arrive too late, it disrupts the flow of the conversation.
* Where do you meet?
The location is posted in Meetup and our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CRqdyO6p6lZDIN2qVRIlWX) group for this location. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you join the Whatsapp group! If you want to know what other cities have a Practical Philosophy Club, you can see our chapters on our [website](https://www.practicalphilosophy.club/practical-philosophy-locations/).
🤝**POLICY**
To respect our members privacy, we ask that no one privately message a member without first getting explicit consent. (This looks like speaking in person and being asked to message privately.) Contacting or texting other participants without prior consent is not permitted and may result in removal from the group. Practical Philosophy reserves the right to enforce this policy at its discretion to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
**PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY - Making Philosophy Available To All. ✨**
Practical Philosophy hosts weekly, in-person meetups in 25+ countries, including Canada, Spain, Japan, Mexico and many more! 🗺️

Pop-up tour: Understand Denmark
Ever wondered *why Denmark works the way it does*?
You may already live here — but understanding Denmark is something else entirely.
On this **2-hour pop-up walking tour**, we go beyond the usual history and sights to explore the ideas, values, and systems that shape Danish society today. This is not a traditional sightseeing tour — it’s a conversation about how Denmark actually functions.
We’ll walk through central Copenhagen and use the city as our classroom. Along the way, we’ll talk about topics like:
* Why Danes trust each other (and their government)
* How the welfare state really works
* Why people are willing to pay high taxes
* The role of monarchy in a modern democracy
* Danish culture, social norms, and everyday life
* And yes — what’s going on with Greenland, and our relationship to the United States
This tour is designed for **curious, thoughtful people** who want to understand the country they are living in — not just observe it.
After the tour you are welcome to join for an informal dinner with the other participants and the guide.
The price of the tour is 125 DKK which can be paid on the tour in cash or MobilePay.
Your guide is Jens Frahm-Rasmussen who, before becoming a guide, worked 10 years in Human resources in the City hall of Copenhagen, the Ministry of Integration, and Copenhagen University.
60 KM Day Hike - King's March - Helsingør
Hi Randoms,
This one is a little different.
This is an organized event, not organized by this group, and you'll need to sign up and pay on your own:
[60 km Kongemarchen](https://fremadmarch.dk/vare/60-km-kongemarchen/)
Essentially, it's an option to do it as a group, with the usual added value of going with the Randoms! Please note that it's not an option to join without signing up with the formal organizer - the link above.
Details - the link above!
The location:
Helsingør Hallen, Gl. Hellebækvej 63, 3000 Helsingør
Store Heddinge - Stevns Klint, 10 KM
Let's go on a beautiful, easy day hike along one of the most dramatic and historically fascinating coastlines in all of Denmark, Stevns Klint. No big elevation, no rush, just white chalk cliffs, 65-million-year-old fossils, a medieval church teetering on the edge of a cliff, and the Baltic Sea stretching out in front of us the whole way. It's the kind of walk where you stop every ten minutes just to stare...
Meeting point: Store Heddinge Station at 10:30. From there, we’ll walk to Stevns Klint (about 5 km), explore the area, and return via the same route , around 10 km total. Easy peasy...

Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

Step into a world where strategy meets artistry — and where every painted figure tells a story of battle, honor, and imagination. Join **Daclaud** at **The Arcane Foundry** for an evening that introduces newcomers and enthusiasts alike to the timeless craft of **tabletop wargaming** and **miniature painting**.
My own journey began with a fascination for fantasy — knights in armor, grim and hardened warriors, and monstrous creatures locked in epic battle. That passion led me to **Dungeons & Dragons**, where I painted my first **Basic Heroes set** and felt the spark that comes from bringing a character to life in miniature form. Not long after, I discovered **Warhammer Fantasy** and **Warhammer 40,000**, and I was hooked. The vision of vast armies clashing across the table — each unit meticulously painted, each story unfolding through dice and imagination — became my creative obsession.
During this event, we’ll explore the **origins of wargaming**, from its early military simulations to the richly detailed worlds of modern tabletop battle systems. You’ll learn how to **build and customize your own armies**, paint your first figures, and experience the joy of turning strategy and storytelling into a hands-on art form.
Whether you’re drawn by the lore, the hobby, or the thrill of commanding miniature legions, this introduction will open the gates to a world that has captivated hobbyists for generations.
**🎨 RSVP today and join us at The Arcane Foundry — where every brushstroke and battle tells a story.**
