Sew & Tell at Carver Genealogy Center (East Austin)
Sew & Tell at Carver Genealogy Center (East Austin)
Come talk about your latest sewing projects at the Carver Genealogy Center, in a restored historical building. All levels welcome, this is an opportunity to show off what you have been sewing lately. Feel free to bring in extra fabric or patterns, too to share if you would like. Carver Genealogy Center is a small building in front of Carver Museum in East Austin. It is close to all the fun food trucks and shopping in the historic Rosewood neighborhood, right off I-35, near downtown. This is a regular third Saturday's meet up location for We Sew Austin. We are so grateful to Heather at the Carver Genealogy Center for use of this beautiful space. Note: no food or drinks to protect the archival documents. We also need to be out of the space before noon as per City of Austin guidelines. Hope to see you soon!

Austin Commercial Real Estate SuperLadies Meetup Group
Austin Commercial Real Estate SuperLadies Meetup Group
This month (April) topic: **From Dirt to Deals: How We Turn Raw Land into Cash Flow (RV Parks, Subdivisions & Passive Income** This month, we’re going deeper into something most investors never see: 👉 How raw land turns into real income. In the past few months, our team has: ✅ Successfully gotten an RV Park approved (one of the hardest approvals to achieve) ✅ Approved a 61-acre subdivision with buyers already reserving lots ✅ Structured deals designed for both active and passive investors These are not theoretical deals. These are real projects happening right now. *** ### 💡 What You’ll Learn: • How we identify land with hidden upside • The exact steps to get approvals (and why this creates massive value) • How these projects generate cash flow and profit • Why many investors are shifting from long-term equity to income-focused strategies • How you can participate — actively or passively *** ### 👩‍💼 Who This Is For: This meetup is ideal for: • Women interested in real estate investing (beginner to advanced) • Investors looking for passive income opportunities • Professionals who want to scale beyond single-family rentals • Anyone curious about land, RV parks, Retail Centre or development *** ### ⚠️ Important: This is not a “sit and listen” seminar. This is a **high-value, interactive meetup** where we: * Share real deals * Exchange ideas * Connect with serious investors *** ### 🤝 What Makes This Group Different: SuperLadies is not just about real estate. It’s about building wealth, confidence, and a powerful network of women who invest together. *** ### 📍 Come Ready To: ✔ Learn from real case studies ✔ Ask questions ✔ Meet like-minded investors ✔ Explore real opportunities *** ### 🔥 Bonus: We’ll also briefly share how some investors are earning **consistent returns through real estate-backed strategies**, without managing properties. Look forward to seeing you there! ============================================================== Kudos to the SuperLadies! This is a Monthly event. We meet in person to share resources & information and to discuss and solve problems we have in commercial real estate investments. Since we are a very small group of dedicated and passionate female real estate investors, we are committed to being honest and open to each other, and what we discuss stays inside the group only. Any ladies who have an interest in commercial real estate investment (passively or actively) and would like to share their experience and resources are welcome to join us. We will meet in different fancy places and even combine with other fun educational and networking events to make the SuperLadies better, happier, and wealthier every day and every week! Agenda (subject to change): 1:30pm - 3:30pm Lunch and network Self-Introductions Your background and current job; Your interest in investing; What you can provide value to and what you are looking for, etc. Share your investing experience - good or bad; passive or active investing; Bring your deals - we can review and analyze them together. LAMP
LAMP
# LAMP ***curated by Ariel Wood*** **Opening Reception: April 18, 6-9pm** On view Saturdays, 12-5pm from April 18th - May 23rd *LAMP* is a group exhibition rooted in practices of accumulation and adornment. Primarily sculptural, the works span ceramic, papier-mâché, textiles, and found objects—materials that carry the marks of touch, use, and return. The exhibition draws inspiration from the fantastical potential of a bookshelf alcove crowded with knickknacks, and from the push and pull of a warm light bulb: how it reveals the texture of its shade while allowing everything beyond its beam to slip into shadow. *LAMP* lingers in this tension—between illumination and obscurity, excess and intimacy—asking what it means to look again at what we already have. At its core, *LAMP* is about making a home. Home here is not fixed, but a space of continual return. Each return brings something new: an object, a gesture, a layer. Through acts of adornment, familiar things are re-seen and re-translated. Function is rendered implicit; materiality, charm, and care emerges energetically. ## **[Upcoming Events](https://massgallery.org/events):** * **Opening Reception**: Saturday, April 18th, 6-9pm * **Read In**: Sunday, April 19th, 5-7pm * **Supper Club**: Thursday, May 14th, 6-8pm * **Textile Workshop**: Saturday, May 23rd, 1-3pm * **Closing Reception**: Saturday, May 23rd, 3-5pm

**\*\*\*RSVP ON MEETUP ALONE DOES NOT RESERVE A SPOT ON THE TRIP\*\*\*** **[About the Park](https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/caprock-canyons)** If you're looking for a stunning outdoor adventure, Caprock Canyons State Park in the Texas Panhandle is an absolute gem! This sprawling 15,000-acre park showcases gorgeous, rugged canyons shaped over time by wind and water, creating some truly breathtaking scenery. One of the coolest features? It's home to the official Texas State Bison Herd – you will spot these majestic animals roaming the landscape! With over 90 miles of trails, there's plenty to explore whether you're into hiking, biking, or horseback riding. The park also features prairie dog towns, camping options ranging from primitive sites to convenient drive-up spots, and spectacular viewpoints like Holmes Creek Canyon. Don't miss the Folsom Historic Site, a beautiful natural bridge, and the intriguing Fern Cave – they all add to your visit! **About the Work** The park rangers would like us to do trailway bridge work along with brushing trails. **About Transportation** Participants are responsible for their own transportation. Carpooling is encouraged; please contact other attendees on this trip to arrange your carpool. **About Lodging** We will be tent camping within the state park, at the South Prong area (no electrical or water). Participants are responsible for bringing their own camping equipment. **About Meals** Participants bring their own breakfasts and lunches. For evening meals, you and your cooking group (TBA) will feed the entire group one evening - this includes bringing and preparing the food, as well as dish patrol (washing pots/pans/etc.) **About Our Day Off** Sunday April 19 is our day to enjoy the park- participants can decide what they want to do during this day. There are usually hikes or other outings organized within the group. ***But wait - there’s more!*** On Saturday April 18, (after Palo Duro SP, and before Caprock Canyons SP) we get to check out a huge area nearby that is not open to the public, and won’t be for at least three years! The [Cross Bar Special Recreation Management Area](https://friendsofcrossbarsrma.org) is big - 11,883 acres. It is the only BLM land in Texas. We have received special permission to have them guide us across private property to get to the preserve. They are meeting us at the gate at 10:30am on Saturday April 18. It is about an hour drive from Palo Duro. The gate’s address is 9610 Brickplant Road, Amarillo, TX. After exploring the Cross Bar, many of us will proceed to Caprock Canyons State Park (2 hour drive) for another week long service project. **TO SIGN UP FOR CAPROCK CANYONS SP SERVICE PROJECT:** 1. **RSVP on Meetup.** The Meetup may show as full, but if you want to come, please sign up. Queer Crafting at Epoch Coffeehouse (Far West)
Queer Crafting at Epoch Coffeehouse (Far West)
Queer crafters of all types are welcome to bring a portable project. We will chat and craft together. Most of our regulars don't check in on Meetup, so come even if no one is signed up. Weather permitting, we usually sit outside! Our group is usually around 5 people, but we have some bigger and smaller days -- we're all busy. Very rarely we'll have only one person show up; our sincerest apologies if that happens to you.
Open Play Pickleball - all levels
Open Play Pickleball - all levels
Casual open play pickleball for all levels, including beginners. Equipment: You will need to purchase a paddle, or you can rent one from the front desk. We play with “outdoor” balls. Usually our group has some but it’s a good idea to bring them just in case. I highly recommend wearing a good quality court shoe and comfortable athletic wear. Players **Must*** use this link to register. https://apexpbclubs.podplay.app/community/events/caacc51d-b16c-462c-b6c5-efff1a04a72f Spots are limited so sign up early. Cost is $12 per person ($10.80 for Apex members). Apex is an indoor facility with a pro shop and restaurant/bar on site. You do not need to be a member to play. The purpose of this group is to enjoy the game and introduce new people to the pickleball community. By signing up you agree to be willing to play with people who are at different skill and experience levels, and show kindness and respect to all players at all times.
🌊 Morning Walk at Lake Pflugerville
🌊 Morning Walk at Lake Pflugerville
Join us for a peaceful morning walk around beautiful Lake Pflugerville — one of Austin's most scenic spots just a short drive from the city. This is one of our favorite routes: flat, shaded in stretches, and just the right length for good conversation and a natural reset. Whether you're a regular or joining us for the first time, you'll find easy company and a warm pace. Here's what to expect: **The Trail:** It's a 2.9-mile loop with only about 42 feet of elevation gain — essentially flat the whole way. The surface starts as concrete near the main entrance and transitions to decomposed granite, making it easy for walkers of all paces. **Sun Exposure** The trail has lot's of sun exposure, so sunscreen and a hat is recommended. **The Vibe:** It's a wide, well-maintained path shared by walkers, runners, cyclists, and dog lovers. All paces welcome. We walk, we talk, we breathe fresh air. Come as you are. 📍 18216 Weiss Ln, Pflugerville, TX 78660 🥾 Meet at the large pavillion just across from the main parking lot 💧 Bring a water bottle if desired 👟 Sturdy sneakers recommended By submitting your RSVP to one of our walks, you are agreeing that you have read and understand the [Release of Liability.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zbJd9vBdM-kNFoVQaL5_nOssZhafCL1MY6IuFRR3DJE/edit?usp=sharing)

How to Structure Real Estate Deals Using Seller Finance and Notes
How to Structure Real Estate Deals Using Seller Finance and Notes
Learn how seller finance and notes can create cash flow and new deal opportunities with 40-year investor Eddie Speed **FREE TICKET** 🎟️ https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-to-structure-real-estate-deals-using-seller-finance-and-notes-tickets-1984826171509?aff=cicmeetupapp Most real estate investors only know one way to make money: Buy the property. Fix the property. Rent it or sell it. But there’s another side of real estate that can create cash flow, flexibility, and opportunity without only focusing on owning more property. At this month’s Columbus Investors Club, Tiffany and Josh High are sitting down with Eddie Speed - a real estate veteran with 40 years of experience who has closed more than 50,000 note deals. He has spent decades helping investors understand how to structure deals through seller finance and notes, and how to think more like the bank instead of just the buyer. This will be a practical conversation around a part of real estate most people have heard about, but very few truly understand. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to create more opportunities in deals, generate cash flow in a different way, or understand how seller finance actually works in the real world, this is a night you want to be in the room for. You’ll walk away thinking about deals differently, seeing new possibilities, and understanding how creative structuring can open doors that traditional investing alone can’t. **What You’ll Learn** * How seller finance works in real estate deals * How notes fit into real estate and create opportunity * How to structure deals more creatively * How investors generate cash flow by focusing on the payment * How to think like the bank instead of only focusing on owning the property * How this strategy can create flexibility in today’s market **Open Q&A - Ask Eddie Anything About** * Seller finance and how to use it in real deals * How notes work in a practical, beginner-friendly way * Creating cash flow without only relying on rentals * Structuring deals that others might miss * How experienced investors think differently about financing * Common mistakes investors make when they only focus on the property **Why You Should Be in the Room** Because the investors who win in the long run know how to do more than just buy houses. They know how to structure. They know how to create terms. They know how to see opportunities other people miss. This is the kind of conversation that can expand the way you think about real estate entirely. Come ready to learn, ask questions, take notes, and connect with people who are serious about growing in this business. **Reserve your free seat now - and be part of the conversation.** Grab your spot here ➡️ https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-to-structure-real-estate-deals-using-seller-finance-and-notes-tickets-1984826171509?aff=cicmeetupapp
