4. Verpflegung: Für Getränke und Snacks am Ende ist gesorgt. Bringt gute Laune und bequeme Schuhe mit! Urban Sketching @ Archäologische Sammlung Uni-Zürich [new date, new location]
< \* \* \* English version below \* \* \* >
DE

UPDATE 25 March: The Graphische Sammlung (see below) is closed over the Easter weekend. However, the weather is expected to remain cold. So we’ll head ‘one door down’ to the University of Zurich’s Archaeological Collection. There, plenty of casts of historical statues are waiting for us to sketch them. Chairs are available to borrow there. Admission is free. If the weather turns out to be nice after all, we can always head to the Polyterrasse. We’ll meet inside in the museum foyer.
END OF UPDATE
As the weather is set to turn properly cold and unpleasant again, we are postponing our next meetup by one week to the Easter weekend. And since the first Sunday of the month falls on Easter Sunday this time, we will meet on Saturday instead.
That works out rather well, because the Graphische Sammlung at ETH Zurich is opening an intriguing new exhibition: “Glaciers & Rapids. Drawn Switzerland around 1800.” It presents works from its rich holdings of 18th and 19th century Swiss drawings, including watercolours, gouaches, studies and scientifically informed depictions of the Alps. The exhibition explores how the visual image of Switzerland was shaped around 1800, through glaciers, mountain scenery and dramatic natural subjects that still resonate today. For sketchers, this promises compelling lines, tonal values, compositions and the question of how landscape can be staged through drawing.
If the weather is fine, however, we can also draw outdoors instead, for example on the Polyterrasse with a view over the old town.
In any case, we’ll meet indoors in front of the entrance to the Graphic Collection exhibition.
More information about the exhibition can be found here: https://gs.ethz.ch
Please bring your own drawing materials. No prior experience required. We sketch for about 2 hours, solo or in small groups, at an easy pace. Afterwards we regroup, share our sketches and take a group photo. As always, we follow the Urban Sketchers values: https://urbansketchers.org/who-we-are/#mission/

Connected Westerville Night of Networking!
**Connected Westerville Night of Networking** *April Edition: The Introduction Economy*
You've been to the networking events. You've done the small talk. Collected the cards. Forgotten the names. And walked out feeling like you just wasted two hours of your life.
The problem isn't you. It's the format.
Most networking events put you in a room and tell you to figure it out. So everyone defaults to elevator pitches and business talk, and nothing real gets built.
Here's the truth about networking that most people miss: Your network isn't just who you know. It's who thinks of you when they're talking to someone else.
*That's* The Introduction Economy. And it only works when relationships are real.
There's a reason people who come once keep coming back. It starts with seven minutes that feel nothing like networking.
Then we open it up. Free networking. More conversations. More momentum.
This is a room full of corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, creatives, and career builders in the Westerville and Columbus area. The mix is the magic.
You might never do business with everyone you meet tonight. But someone in this room will think of *you.* **By name**. So, the next time someone needs exactly what you do, you get the recommendation.
**April 14th. RSVP now.**
**When:** Tuesday\, April 14th \| 6:15 PM \-\- 8:00 PM **Where:** Vineyard Community Center \| 6000 Cooper Rd\, Westerville\, OH 43081
