Evening Stroll at Lakeline Park
**Easy Walk • Fresh Air • Real Connection in Cedar Park**
Looking for a simple way to unwind, get outside, and meet new people in Cedar Park?
Join us for a relaxed evening **walking meetup at Lakeline Park**, one of Cedar Park’s hidden gems featuring scenic trails, open green space, and peaceful water views. Whether you’re new to the area or just looking to connect with others, this is an easy, welcoming way to get out of the house and into good company.
This isn’t a power walk or a fitness challenge, it’s about **movement, conversation, and connection**. We’ll keep a relaxed, easy pace that works for all fitness levels, with plenty of space for casual conversations along the trail. The vibe is low-pressure and social, making it easy to meet new people whether you come solo or with a friend.
These walking events are part of a growing effort to create **consistent, low-pressure social meetups around Austin and Cedar Park**, simple ways to show up, get outside, and build real connections.
Park in the lot nearest the Kayak rental and we will meet at the launch to start the 2.5 mile loop.
**RSVP Reminder:** If you RSVP, please do your best to attend or update your RSVP. Smaller events like this work best when everyone who signs up shows up.
Monthly Williamson Co Libertarian Social
All libertarians and folks curious about us are welcome to attend.
We'll be in a private room at COVER 3 Round Rock. Ask for the host for the Williamson County Libertarian Party.
Run/Walk WB - We meet at 6:30 and start running/walking at 6:40 sharp!!
**Come join our group of fun and fabulous friends!**
**Please note that is a dog friendly event!** We meet and socialize outside on the Whitestone Brewery patio which is completely open to our four-legged friends.
If you are looking to make new friends, you have come to the right place. And we offer an opportunity to get in some exercise. The exercise is a bonus and OPTIONAL! We want you to come hang out more than anything. Too cold or too hot or too whatever might keep you from exercising, but please just show up and honor us with your presence. And Whitestone Brewery has offered us Happy Hour pricing for this event!
We will meet at 6:30 pm on the patio of Whitestone Brewery to **start our Run/Walk at 6:40 pm**. Please come prepared if you are going to run or walk. It is always important to be hydrated. If you are new to the event, I will make sure you have a "veteran" to run/walk with on the course.
See you there,
Mike
Exercise and socialize! Come walk with us then have a drink after!
Let’s meet up at 6:15 to stretch in the parking lot on the left side of the restaurant then head out at 6:30 for an adorable 2.5 mile walk! Get that blood pumping then back to the Grove for drinks and/or dinner.
6.6-mile Brushy Creek Regional Trail Evening Hike @ Cedar Park [🔦 Recommended!]
**IMPORTANT:** Due to construction at our previous meeting location which closed down the parking lot we've temporarily moved the starting location to **Brushy Creek Lake Park**. The relevant information has been updated to reflect this.
Join us for our **recurring** scenic **6.6-mile (10.6-km)** evening at the Brushy Creek Regional Trail in Cedar Park!
We’ll take a relaxed pace through one of the city’s most beautiful trails. The hike should take about **2 hours**.
**ℹ️ Additional info**
The purpose of this specific event is to have a recurring way for us to meet relatively easily. I want to make sure that recurring events are a "low effort" commitment, ie you don't have to drive 2 hours to get there. In the future once we have more organizers I plan to have more recurring events scheduled so we can cover a larger area.
Also, you may have noticed that **this event has an RSVP limit**. This is done for multiple reasons. Not only to ensure that a large group is not disruptive to the rest of the Austin community on the trail, but also to allow us to prioritize the "meetup" experience for every attendee, as having +60 people may be overwhelming, and ultimately the goal of this group is to build a community, not just a collection of individuals that like a specific trail.
**📍 Where to Meet**
2310 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613
Google Maps **exact meeting spot link**:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/yAzHpoVQdXXAG3XD8
Route on **AllTrails**:
[Will be added in the future]
**🅿️ Parking**
Parking is available directly at the parking lot close to where we'll meet. There will be enough space for everyone.
**ℹ️ Recommendations**
* Bring good shoes (Although the terrain isn't challenging and relatively flat)
* Pack some water (More than you need, just in case)
* Bring a friend! (That's my attempt at a shameless self-promo for the group. Although even if you don't, I am confident that you'll get along great with the people you'll meet at the event!)
* A flashlight! Your phone is better than nothing, but a dedicated flashlight would only be of benefit of you as the sun sets!
**👍 Good to know**
* 🐶 Dog-friendly
* 👨👩👧 Family-friendly
* ♿ Wheelchair accessible
**Event Etiquette (Important!)**
* If you RSVP'd, but are unable to make it, please update your attendance as soon as possible. The attendance limit prevents new people from joining if we're at capacity otherwise. If we notice a pattern of you RSVPing to events and not showing up, you will be kicked from this group.
* Please show up on time. We will start right at the indicated event time. This is to respect everyones time. If you're a few minutes late, it should not be an issue as the "intro" to the event may take 15 minutes or so, but we will not delay the start until you get there.
* Other than that, I know all of you will help me make this group great for everyone. So thanks in advance for that!
**Event itinerary**
Below is the general outline of how the events are going to function
* Updates since last event
* Official introductions of everyone
* Icebreaker question
* The event itself
* After event:
* (As needed) Updates for next event(s)
* Exchange goodbyes
**🙂 I want your feedback!**
I am working on making this description as informative as possible, if anything is missing, you have any recommendations or there are errors/mistakes, please reach out to me, thanks!

Easy-Mid problems
Bring a whiteboard or a laptop or a piece of paper. We will be solving 1 easy and 1 medium problem on LeetCode.
We have no rules for being late or leaving early, you can be late and start from the second problem or do the first one and leave.
The main idea is to work together on it, share thoughts and discuss a solution.
For those who don't like the time pressure during the session, I will be posting problems in the comments for the session 1 day in advance.
The 13th Annual Keep Austin Agile Conference
**The world keeps changing. Fast. The question is whether your approach is.**
KAA 2026 is where Agile practitioners, leaders, and builders come to work through what's actually hard right now: delivering real value, building trust across teams, and figuring out where AI fits without losing the human system underneath it.
This isn't a theory conference. The speakers are doing the work.
Our keynote, **Kevin Koym**, has helped over 6,500 entrepreneurs across 42 countries build something real. He founded Tech Ranch Austin. He's seen what stalls people and what moves them. If you're building something, leading something, or still figuring out what comes next, his talk is worth your whole morning.
The rest of the lineup covers leadership, product, teams, and technology. Talks and workshops. Practitioners and executives. A room full of people who take this seriously.
**If that sounds like your kind of day, purchase tickets here:** [https://www.agileaustin.org/kaa-2026-ticket-info](https://www.agileaustin.org/kaa-2026-ticket-info)

Meet other Algorithmic Traders, Day Traders, Option Traders and Investors
Note this is for informational and educational purposes. Not financial or tax advice **see detailed disclaimer below**.
We will discuss trading and investing strategies, as well as the skills needed to start. It is a **casual meetup to meet people who are interested in trading or building a career around it, especially algorithmically. No "financial gurus" are welcome.**
Join us for a meetup where we share trading ideas, and connect with others who share a common interest in investing.
Algorithmic trading is commonly used by large institutional investors and market makers, but it is also accessible to retail traders. It offers several advantages over manual or discretionary approaches—particularly in minimizing psychological errors that often impact human traders.
Some of the topics we usually discuss:
\- Reasons for investing
\- Limitations of being a retail trader
\- Practical tools: brokers\, APIs\, data sources\, real\-time implementation
\- Brainstorming ideas: strategies that may be working today
**Note this even is not sponsored or endorsed by any business where we are meeting. We are just using their space for casual meetup event.**
**Please no promotion of MLM, pyramid schemes, self promotion to paid services, affiliate promotion, paid subscriptions or similar stuff.**

Java 26 - Better Language, Better APIs, Better Runtime
Please join us on Thursday, April 9th at[ Improving](https://www.improving.com/) (11044 Research Blvd Suite C-120) to hear from Oracle Java evangelist Nicolai Parlog on the cool new features coming in Java 26. We'll open the doors at 6:30 and start the meeting at 7:00 PM. Pizza and drinks will be available.
Be sure and sign up for Venkat's Arc of AI conference:
https://www.arcofai.com/register
Hope to see you there!
**Abstract**
Java 25 is the latest release with wide-ranging long-term support. It's a doozy and Java 26 is following hot on its heels:
* from module imports to improved pattern matching
* from structured concurrency to HTTP/3
* from simpler \`main\` to launching multi-source-file programs
* from better performance to quantum-resistant encryption
There are plenty of features in the language, API, and runtime to discuss - whether new, improved, or finalized. So let's go over them!
**About Nicolai Parlog**
Nicolai (aka nipafx) is a Java enthusiast focused on language features, core APIs, and runtime evolution with a passion for learning and sharing. He does that mostly at conferences and in his biweekly Inside Java Newscast, but also occasionally in podcasts, live streams, articles, and books - more on all that on nipafx.dev. He's a Java Developer Advocate at Oracle and otherwise best known for his haircut.
Thursday Night Write-In
**Goal**: Connect with fellow writers looking for social and moral support--and to get at least 1+ hours of solid writing done.
**Structure**:
1. We begin with 15-20 minutes of discussion: about writing, what we're working on, who we are. This is just about connecting with each other as people and creators.
2. We finish with 1+ hours of quiet writing time: head's down, at our own pace. Just like if we're at home, only in a public space and with company!
**Vibe**: This is a no pressure, no judgement writing group. Unlike many writing groups, there won't be sharing, reading, or critiquing (you are welcome to meet up separately for that purpose). We talk, then we write!
**Projects**: Any project (novels, articles, poems, scripts--whatever) at any stage. Many of us cycle through projects, so there's a little bit of everything, every time.
Come when you can, stay as long as you want. This is for you, just among friends. :)

Contra dance with Big Scioty April 11 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Kim Thompson**
**Band: Full Moon Country Dance Orchestra**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/)
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.
