Hey everyone! Let’s go to Downtown Round Rock and see a FREE show! This is part of the city’s concert series where there are free shows every Wednesday until the end of June. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair so that you have a place to sit during the show. Feel free to bring snacks to share or you can get popcorn sold at the park or pizza and beer next door. Music starts at 7, but you may want to arrive early to grab a good spot. See ya there!

The Brewtique allows you to grab a beer/cider/water from the coolers to drink inside, and as they don't have a kitchen, you can bring your own food to munch on. There's also a new restaurant at the other end of this shopping center, The Dugout Gametime Grill - https://thedugoutgtg.com/ you can order from and pick up to eat while you're frosting!! *** Craft with Crafts. Bring the portable CRAFT of your choice and enjoy it alongside CRAFT beer (or whatever) and friendly faces sporting crafty wit\*. We're pretty darn fun. For reals, we craft in a bar, so we are nothing like your mama's stitch & bitch. Knit, Crochet, Cross stitch, or craft whatever lap work you are into at the moment. The lighting is pretty good. Come join us for weekly board games in South Austin! We'll typically be playing medium-weight strategy board games that will take between 1.5-2.5 hours. Most games we play will go up to 4-5 players. It's very likely that you'll play 1-2 games based on the time. *We usually have a lot of regulars that no longer RSVP. You'll typically find 20-30 folks attending every week* Whether you're new to board games or just interested in trying new ones out, we're always happy to teach and share a great gaming experience. If you have some games of your own, please bring them and let others know in the comments! We rely on our attendees to both bring and teach games to make the event a success. The area we play in is an open air covered patio with heaters/fans, so it can be a bit colder or hotter depending on the weather.... but it's normally still comfortable. In the summer, be prepared to sweat a little. **A few notes to make these events run smoothly:** * If you want to attend, please RSVP to let us know to look for you. * We'll wait for stragglers **until 6:40**. If you show up later than that - you may not be able to get into a game. Sorry - better luck next time! * If you're not able to attend, update your RSVP to make sure our organizers know not to wait up for you. If you RSVP yes and no-show 3 times, we will remove you from the group. * Plan to stay the entire time, although your game *may* end earlier. Whether you're a current or aspiring game designer or a tabletop games enthusiast, getting together with game designers to play published games has a lot to offer. If you design games, analyzing and breaking down a game after the game is over can help you gain a deeper understanding of game mechanics and explore specific problems you're encountering in game development. If you're primarily a playtester, it can help you develop the skills to understand games' underlying mechanisms in ways that can level up your gaming strategy, and see how published games help inspire and teach designers in their own designs. This is not a prototype playtesting event - rather, it's a chance for you to play published games with other designers and game design enthusiasts and follow up gameplay with rich conversations about how designers implemented, combined, or innovated on mechanics in published games. If you'd like to join us, you are welcome to bring a game you'd like to offer for the group to play - think beyond "I love this game and want to play it again" and focus on games you want to better understand or learn from as a designer. If you're a game designer, you're also encouraged to comment on this page with a specific problem you're trying to address in a game, so that organizers or other attendees can bring games that might help you explore the problem space. Please comment on the event page only for events you have RSVP'd for and plan to attend.

We play a wide variety of Euro-style board games, including anything new that's out there plus usual favorites. Bring your favorite game! Someone will most likely want to try it. Game Kastle has snacks and drinks, plus there is a Subway, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Wing Street and Wanfu in the shopping center. Sorry, no alcohol allowed in the store. There are usually 10+ folks playing games, regardless of the number that sign up. If you show up after 1pm, you may have to wait.

The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. In this session we'll explore strategies to protect our codebases through unit and integration testing, documentation, and code review along with additional ways of providing context and guard rails to our AI agents as they carry out the work we've assigned them to do. Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations. 
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus. 
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn. 
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play. 
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders… 
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords… 
IMPORTANT: 
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for. 
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
