**Come join our group of fun and fabulous friends!**
**Please note that is a dog friendly event!** We meet and socialize outside on the Whitestone Brewery patio which is completely open to our four-legged friends.
If you are looking to make new friends, you have come to the right place. And we offer an opportunity to get in some exercise. The exercise is a bonus and OPTIONAL! We want you to come hang out more than anything. Too cold or too hot or too whatever might keep you from exercising, but please just show up and honor us with your presence. And Whitestone Brewery has offered us Happy Hour pricing for this event!
We will meet at 6:30 pm on the patio of Whitestone Brewery to **start our Run/Walk at 6:40 pm**. Please come prepared if you are going to run or walk. It is always important to be hydrated. If you are new to the event, I will make sure you have a "veteran" to run/walk with on the course.
See you there,
Mike

Join us for a peaceful, healing, mostly silent walk
UPDATE 4/20/26 6:06P -- THIS EVENT ON 4/21/26 IS CANCELED :( Looks like it will be raining through much of the night and day tomorrow. So... I'll still set the Reiki intentions for health, peace and self-kindness. You can access these energies any time tomorrow by sitting quietly and intentionally, perhaps with an open-ended question or openness to your higher self.
Wishing all well, Lecia
Basically, if it not snowing, raining heavily and without lightening/thunder, we're probably still on.
But always make your choice align with your needs and preferences.
* It's great to RSVP so we know if you may be on your way.

Whether you are building, investing, advising, exploring, or simply curious, you belong here.
**What FIESTA Is About and Does**
* **Connection -** Austin is growing fast, and it can be hard to find your people. FIESTA is a monthly gathering where founders and supporters come together to share ideas, make introductions, and build real relationships over time.
* **Resources** \- Many startups struggle not because of a lack of effort\, but because of limited access\. FIESTA helps bridge that gap by connecting founders to tools\, insight\, and people who can help move things forward\.

* **[Meet the Funders](https://www.fiesta.community/reverse-pitch):** 1-3 VCs, angels, and funders; reverse-pitch their funds. Sign up **[HERE](https://www.fiesta.community/funder-pitch-form)** to pitch your fund.
* **Helping Founders Be Seen** by giving them the opportunity to pitch to 200+ attendees and then highlighting them in **[The FIESTA Focus newsletter,](https://www.fiesta.community/newsletter)** which reaches over 8,000 subscribers. The goal is simple. Help founders build awareness, attract customers, and make meaningful connections.
If you are a venture-backed, scalable founder **who has attended FIESTA one time**, you are invited to pitch every 6 months. **[SIGN UP HERE](https://www.fiesta.community/founder-pitch-form)**
**Celebrating Wins -** Entrepreneurship is hard. Progress deserves to be acknowledged. Both big milestones and small wins matter here. When you share your success, you give others hope and momentum. **[Share your Wins](https://www.fiesta.community/contact)** as we enjoy celebrating you.
**Monthly FIESTA Agenda**
**5:30 PM** \- Doors open and check\-in begins\. Grab your name tag and start connecting by scanning other name tags\.

April FREE Non-Fiction Book Swap X ATX Climate Week | Austin
**You're invited to our April book swap, in honor of ATX Climate Week.**
We host a free, in-person non-fiction book swap in Austin every month. This April, we're centering the swap around environmental non-fiction: climate, ecology, policy, sustainability, and the science and stories behind them. All genres welcome, but bring something that changed how you see the planet.
**How it works:** Bring a non-fiction book you'd genuinely recommend and are ready to pass along. Write a short recommendation card for it (we'll give you a prompt to respond to). Browse the collection, read the cards, take a book home.
Free to attend. Good books. Good people.
*By registering for this event, you agree to share your registration information with the organizers of ATXCW*
[REGISTER HERE](https://luma.com/s9b66fpq)
**WHEN**
Saturday, April 25th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
**WHERE**
Brewtorium
6015 Dillard Cir A
Austin, TX 78752
We have a table reserved in the main beer hall for our group & we’ll have signage but if you can’t find us, just ask the bartenders.
**FAQs**
**Is this really free?**
Yes. The book swaps are free to attend.
You don’t need a ticket and you don’t need to pay to show up. Just bring a non-fiction book you’re willing to pass along and join us.
Of course, we'd love for you to support the spaces that host us so please consider grabbing a drink, a snack, whatever feels right.
***
**Why non-fiction only?**
Non-fiction aligns more closely with the work we do at Hi From Business Camp. Our community uses reading as a way to think better, understand how things work, and make sense of decisions, systems, habits, relationships, and work. Non-fiction supports that kind of reflection and conversation more consistently in a group setting.
There’s also a practical reason. Setting a clear theme makes it easier to decide what to bring and keeps the swap cohesive and straightforward.
***
**What happens to the books after the swap?**
Some books leave with someone new and never come back. Some stay in circulation and show up again later. That’s intentional. Over time, the books become a small, evolving collection shaped by the community, not by trends or sales charts.
***
**I’m really interested, but I can’t attend in person. Will there be a virtual version?**
Glad you asked. Yes, we’re working on it. We’re exploring a virtual extension of the book swap for people who can’t attend in person. It won’t be a carbon copy of the physical experience, and we’re being intentional about how it works. Conveniently, our [sister company](https://www.ruoomsoftware.com/) happens to be a software company, so we’re thinking carefully about what would make sense here. Stay tuned.
***
**Can I still come if I don’t have a book?**
Yes. You’re welcome to come by and check it out, even if you don’t have a book with you. If you’d like to take a book home, we ask that you bring one when possible. The swap works best when people contribute, and the goal is to keep the exchange balanced and community-driven. That said, you’re still more than welcome to show up, browse, and get a feel for the swap without a book.
***
**How do I get notified about upcoming swaps?**
Join the book swap [Substack](https://hifrombusinesscamp.substack.com/) for the latest on the swaps, plus reading guides, giveaways and news on our city expansion, reading retreats and upcoming virtual book swap product.

Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 22 at Streetlight Guild.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
**SCHEDULE:**
6:45ish - Quick introductions
7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
8:00 - The End
**OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
**BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing & I look forward to seeing you at Streetlight Guild!
**WHAT SHOULD I BRING?**
Whatever you need to be able to write! You're welcome to bring earplugs/headphones if noise will bother you!
**OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:**
* **RSVP:** Please RSVP by 6:00pm the evening of the meeting. This helps me know how many to expect, and if we'll need additional space!
* **COVID:** While masks are not required, please be mindful of the other writers around you and their comfort levels.
* **WIFI/OUTLETS:** Outlets are limited, so please ensure your devices are charged when you come! But Streetlight Guild does have free WiFi! Yay!
* **PARKING:** There is free public parking at Streetlight Guild.
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
