Auch im neuen Jahr ist Queerlig mit Schmäh wieder zurück und heißer denn je  Am **17\. März 2026** wir die Villa Vida zum neuen Comedy-Hotspot! Comedians (Flinta/LGBTQ+) testen hier ihr Material, egal ob blutige Anfänger\*innen oder ‘alte Hasen’, bei uns bekommt jede\*r eine Bühne. Nach ausgebuchten Abenden in anderen Locations kommt die Show jetzt endlich in die Villa Vida und wird damit zu einem neuen Fixpunkt der Wiener Comedy-Szene. ## **A Queer Book Club Exploring Gender, Politics, and Power** Join us this April for our Queer Book Club at Villa Vida Café as we dive into *Who’s Afraid of Gender?* by Judith Butler — one of the most influential thinkers in contemporary gender theory. In this session, we’ll unpack Butler’s latest work, which examines how “gender” has become a political flashpoint across the world. The book explores how anti-gender movements operate, what’s at stake, and how language, fear, and power shape public discourse. This is a space for collective reading, critical thinking, and community exchange. Welcome Book Lovers! Join our Meet Up Group to find like-minded book readers! This event is for everybody interested in listening or sharing new book content or comment on it. You are welcome just to come for inspiration. You definitely don't need to read books at the moment. It is a gathering for everybody to find like-minded people interested in learning something new. :) Feel free to bring your own book with you. The event will take place at the volunteer organisation MUT. It is an organisation to supports humans, animals and the environment especially in Vienna. I am happy to host it there. MUT or the Social Book Club look forward to some donation to cover the cost of this event. If you would like to help, please bring some cash with you. **Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch** **This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.** In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. When she receives a shocking invitation—to take part in a competition in one of the city's most notorious haunted houses, pitting six spirit mediums against one another in a series of six séances over six nights, until a single winner emerges—she has every reason to refuse. Now that I understand their reservation system, I will be on top of it with booking that location as soon as the date is released for the month.
