April Flutters: “The Emperor of Gladness” by Ocean Vuong
It’s lit! went on a little excursion, we listened to Ocean Vuong talk (and magically sing!) in Bozar and as we left there was no doubt as to which book we should do next!
“[The Emperor of Gladness](https://www.theguardian.com/books/2025/may/13/the-emperor-of-gladness-by-ocean-vuong-review-heartbreak-and-hope)” touches perfectly upon the topic we chose for april - as migration (of birds, insects and other animals small and big) often is the backbone of blossoming of spring, so it is of this novel. Crossing from one country/continent to another, from family had to the family chosen, from reality to fiction and fiction to reality, from past to present and, possibly, future. What anchors us in one and what propels us to another? Let’s have Ocean lull us into the exploration of these questions, themes and Feelings!

Brussels Runners - Tuesday Intervals
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive load, and a recovery week at the end of the cycle.
Session:
* 10 - 20’ warm up (easy run and drills)
* Core session (ie. 6x5' - 2' recovery)
* Cool down
We run together during Warm-up, and cool down and tey to regroup during recovery time. Paces are not imposed (everyone runs at his/her own pace) given the intensity suggested.
Notes:
It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the session, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle.
Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'15"/km so this pace should feel very comfortable

BIFF : Nirvanna - The Band - the Show - the Movie
**BIFF : Nirvanna - The Band - the Show - the Movie**
11/04 @ 19h30
If you’re a fan of the 2008 mockumentary web sitcom Nirvana the Band the Show, or its 2017 spiritual successor, Viceland’s Nirvanna the Band the Show — both about a couple of guys who just want to play a show at Toronto’s Rivoli — then prepare to fall in love with 2025’s big-screen version, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie.
If you’re not at all familiar with the originals, but you know and/or love Back to the Future, that should be enough to guarantee you a good time at this almost-lawsuit-worthy homage/parody to the 1980s time travel classic. And if perchance you already love both Nirvanna and BTTF, then strap in, because when this movie hits 88 kilometres an hour…
Like its small- and computer-screen predecessors, the film version stars its co-creators, Matt Johnson (also directing) and Jay McCarrol, playing fictionalized versions of themselves. Like their younger, spryer selves, all they want is to play at the Rivoli. (Thank heavens the century-old establishment exists in all three time periods.)
They think they have a plan — OK, Matt thinks they have a plan; Jay has always played the cynical straight man — to gain notoriety (and a gig) by skydiving off the CN Tower and into the Rogers Centre. And, like every other one of their harebrained schemes, it almost works.
Matt’s next great idea is to trick out their RV like the DeLorean from that other movie, with the time circuits built into the vehicle’s fridge. (Fun fact: Back to the Future’s original screenplay imagined a fridge rather than a car as the device for travelling through time.) He’ll trick the Rivoli’s management into letting them play there to save the spacetime continuum. Or something.
Anyway, the plan fails because the time machine works, sending Matt and Jay back to the year 2008 and a collision course with themselves.

**Sessions:**
**Session 1:** **What I'll Tell My Kids About K8s Security (Lars Lefebvre, ING):**
What I'll Tell My Kids About K8s Security is a creative and story-driven talk that makes Kubernetes security approachable — even for those who aren't deep in the weeds of K8s. Framed through metaphors and everyday analogies, the talk explores complex security challenges in a fun and memorable way. In the second half, I'll share the story behind an open source tool we built at ING to help teams uncover and understand real-world security issues in their clusters.
*Bio:* Lars is a dedicated Cloud and Application Security Engineer with a strong background in the Cloud Native stack. He’s experienced in managing multi-cloud environments, promoting cloud-native practices, and enhancing security measures in software development lifecycles.
**Session 2:** **K8s-wish and other LLM adventures (Andrew Yourtchenko)**
Can we use LLMs to avoid writing YAML? This talk explores two approaches — a single-shot LLM call and a full agentic loop — using two open source projects, and what each gets right and wrong.
*Bio*: After 25 years at Cisco across three lives — TAC Security, IPv6 technical marketing, and high-performance networking software — Andrew is now building open source agentic AI tools and doing occasional consulting. He is a coauthor of DHCPv6 and other RFCs, and holds 4 US patents.
**Session 3: Kubestronaut Panel** *30 minutes \| Q&A*
Meet a panel of Kubestronauts, some even Golden. We'll kick off with a quick intro to what a Kubestronaut (and Golden Kubestronaut) actually is, then dive straight into an interactive Q&A. Hear about their journey, what the grind really looks like, and what they'd do differently. This session is all about the conversation.
*Bio Olivier Calzi (Golden Kubestronaut):*
From pulling Ethernet cables as a student in France to becoming a Golden Kubestronaut, I have spent 10 years learning the stack from the ground up. Now a Cloud Native Expert with 15 CNCF certifications, I focus on SRE and infrastructure architecture. I'm a firm believer in the "work-study" model and a lifelong student who still finds engineering deeply fun.
*Bio François Duthilleul (Golden Kubestronaut):*
François Duthilleul is a Principal Solutions Architect at Red Hat, leading the security domain in the EMEA Telco CoE, co-author of the OpenShift Security book, and contributing to O-RAN and Sylva standardisation. The first Belgian Golden Kubestronaut and 2025 Top SSA, he brings 15+ years of network cloudification experience — and you'll find him at rock concerts, on a road bike, or talking cloud-native over a craft beer.
*Bio Evelien Schellekens (Kubestronaut):* Evelien is a Principal Solutions Architect at Elastic. She enjoys sharing knowledge through public speaking and interacting with the technical community. She’s passionate about observability and open source technologies like Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry.
