CFI Third-Sunday Roundtable (C3SR-- A New Zoom Event)
Hello Friends of CFI! We are happy to introduce this new monthly Sunday night Zoom event for people who crave serious conversations! Now that our Sunday brunch, Food for Thought, has returned to the 'real world,' we wanted to create another event to keep our many new 'zoom-able' friends in the loop with CFI. Hence-- (tah-dah!), we are introducing the "CFI Third-Sunday Roundtable" (C3SR for those in the know).
Since it's a monthly series we will have a little more time to choose topics and for everyone to do the readings. As a change of format, in each meeting we will pose three questions about the reading, and ask for volunteers to give their answers. (Questions: 1- What are the main ideas in the reading? 2- What is most surprising idea? 3- Do you see any weaknesses in the thesis?) Then, anyone can ask the speaker why they think that, or where they get their facts, or just say, 'That was Brilliant' (in case it was Laurence or Harry speaking!)
So, on with the show. Topic to be announced in the Comments section, below, prior to the meeting.

“Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.”
― Albert Einstein

* Toastmaster: leads the meeting, introduces meeting theme, guests, and Prepared Speakers
* Prepared Speaker: every speaker is a role model and club members learn from their speeches
* Table Topics Master: helps meeting attendees develop their impromptu speaking skills
* General Evaluator: evaluates the entire meeting and introduces each of the Evaluators
* Evaluator: provides verbal and written feedback to meeting speakers
* Timer: times speeches and table topics impromptu speaking

While the in-person dinners are free form, there might be “conversation starters” listed for these online events, just to get things underway. Of course, this is still “Drinking Skeptically,” but your beverage of choice can range from apple juice to Zadie’s Lager.
