Centro Cultural Capoeira Água de Beber (CECAB) – Capoeira Água de Beber Cultural Centre – is a non-profit organization, founded officially in January 2002. Its pivot activity is Capoeira (classes, rodas, workshops, public presentations, cultural events, performances), however it aggregates other cultural manifestations as: samba de roda, maculelê, frevo, ciranda, dança do coco, dança afro, puxada de rede, craftworks workshops of making and playing music instruments, video projections, movies, lectures about relevant cultural topics and matters related to enforcement of citizenship. This is our first ML Dublin Meetup for quite a while now and we are delighted to be partnering again with Bank of Ireland. This meetup is part of Dublin Tech week and hosted in the Bank of Ireland branch in the Grand Canal area (beside the Bord Gais Energy Theatre). **AI Economy Ireland** (evening event focused on Ireland’s evolving AI economy, innovation, and ecosystem). We kick off at 4.45pm and finish up at 6.45pm. We will have speakers from IBM and from Trinity College: **Dr Baidyanath Biswas** is an Associate Professor in Business Analytics at Trinity Business School. Before joining Trinity, he was an Assistant Professor at the DCU Business School, Ireland. Baidyanath's research focuses on business analytics, cybersecurity and IT risk management. His work has appeared in several reputed management journals. Baidyanath is passionate about teaching and has teaching experience at the undergraduate and masters levels. Before joining academia, Baidyanath worked for nine years with Infosys and IBM as a mainframe and DB2 specialist. He will present the key findings from the recently published report (in collaboration with Microsoft): AI Economy in Ireland 2026, AI Adoption Index: Benchmarking and Impact Places are limited to 70 and will be on a first come first served. The meaning of the word zen is meditation, zazen means sitting meditation. In zazen practice we begin to know ourselves, and to go beyond the limits of our personal ego. Within our tradition zazen is referred to as shikantaza, not doing, letting go of thoughts, dropping off body and mind. This sitting meditation is the focus of our practice. Language limits our ability to communicate the true nature of zen; it is something that is better understood through practice. We are open to everyone interested in learning about zen. Intro workshop for newcomers is available at 5.30pm each Sunday. The dojo is a sacred place and it is important to be considerate of everyone. We have many people that travel to practise together once a week or once a month. So for that reason it is really essential that we all know the structure of the sitting practise (when to sit, how to do Kinhin, the different bell sounds and their meaning etc), to ensure a silent, safe and meaningful meditation. And it's also great to meet everyone before the sitting practise. And answer any questions you may have. We have zafus and zabutons (mats and cushions) for all to sit on. Chairs are available too. Comfortable clothing for sitting, black or neutral tones best. We greatly appreciate a donation of €5 to cover costs if it's possible for you.
