OMM Training
**ORGASMIC MINDFULNESS MEDITATION (OMM)**
Orgasmic Mindfulness Meditation (OMM) is sweeping the world as more people awaken to the truth that there is more available when it comes to intimacy, connection, and aliveness in our relationships and lives.
The philosophy behind OMM offers a powerful map for how we relate, not only in intimate connection, but in communication, creativity, leadership, and everyday life. OMM teaches us how to bring attention to sensation, listen to desire, and cultivate flow rather than effort or force. Over time, this creates deeper levels of intimacy, clarity, and embodied presence across all areas of life.
**People choose OMM because they desire to:**
⚑ Feel more connected to themselves and others
⚑ Experience greater confidence and vitality
⚑ Spend more time in the Orgasmic State
⚑ Feel more comfortable in their body and self-expression
⚑ Cultivate focus and sustained attention
⚑ Have more pleasure, presence, and aliveness in their lives
The OMM practice is simple, specific, and repeatable. Each OMM is set up in the same way, creating a consistent container that allows participants to stop analysing and instead follow sensation, listen to the body, and remain present.
The practice focuses on the clitoris, often described as one of the female centers of power and pleasure, additionally is where the most concentration of nerve endings exist in either human body, male or female and thus is a super highway for both people when they place their attention there, to flow states and higher states of consciousness.
OMM Practitioner Training teaches both the practice and the philosophy of Orgasmic Mindfulness Meditation, offering tools you can apply anywhere connection is present.
Upon completion, participants gain access to a worldwide network of practitioners, allowing them to continue their OMM journey wherever they travel and to team up with anyone who has been trained, by simply asking "Would you like to OM?"
OMM training is open to both singles and couples.
⸻
**WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE TRAINING**
OMM Practitioner Training introduces Orgasmic Mindfulness Meditation as both a meditation practice and a way of relating.
**For Men**
Men often come to OMM training seeking a deeper, more grounded experience of intimacy and connection. The training supports a shift away from performance-based relating and toward presence, sensitivity, and embodied confidence.
**Men can expect to:**
• Understand the difference between effort-based arousal and the Orgasmic State
• Develop greater nervous system regulation and emotional awareness
• Cultivate sustained attention through sensation-based mindfulness
• Learn to respond to desire without urgency or pressure
• Experience a more relaxed, embodied sense of masculinity
• Deepen attunement, trust, and connection in relationship
**For Women**
Women often experience OMM training as a return to the body as a source of wisdom, clarity, and self-trust. The practice supports pleasure without performance, expectation, or self-abandonment.
**Women can expect to:**
• Learn what supports the body to enter and sustain the Orgasmic State
• Build safety and trust with sensation and desire
• Increase sensitivity and embodied awareness
• Strengthen boundaries and self-expression
• Experience pleasure as nourishing and regulating
• Reconnect with confidence, vitality, and self-leadership
**All Participants Will Learn**
• An introduction to OMM philosophy as a way of living in flow and connection
• The difference between climax and orgasm
• What supports the nervous system to access the Orgasmic State
• How to move attention from the head into the body
• Female anatomy and how to locate the clitoral focus point
• The structured steps of the OMM practice
• Foundational stroking technique
• How to ask for what you want from the voice of desire
⸻
**HOW THE TRAINING WORKS**
The OMM Practitioner Training is delivered over three structured sessions, combining philosophy, practical learning, and integration support. Training is available in person or online.
Sessions 1 and 2 are recommended to be completed in close succession, ideally on the same day, to support continuity of learning, nervous system regulation, and embodied integration.
**Session 1: Philosophy & Foundations**
**120 minutes** \| In person or online
An interactive session exploring the philosophy of Orgasmic Mindfulness Meditation and how its principles apply to your relationships, inner world, and life.
**Session 2: The OMM Practice**
**120 minutes** \| In person or online
A practical session covering the steps, structure, and technique of the OMM practice. If you attend with another person, you may choose to be guided through an OMM within a clear, consent-based container.
**Session 3: Integration & Coaching**
60 minutes \| In person or online
A follow-up coaching session, for your trainer to offer you coaching on how your practice has been going for you since your last session, and to answer any questions that have arisen through your lived experience.
⸻
**INVESTMENT & TRAINING OPTIONS**
Hourly Rate: $190 per hour
Trainings are paid in full when you book your session times with your trainer.
**Baseline OMM Practitioner Training**
✔ Session 1 – 2 hours
✔ Session 2 – 2 hours
✔ Session 3 – 1 hour
Total: 5 hours
Investment: $850
**Extended Integration Option**
✔ Session 3 – 2 hours
Total: 6 hours
Investment: $1040
Some participants choose to extend Session 3 to allow additional time for integration, refinement of attention and technique, and two guided OMMs within a supportive, consent-based container.
This option is particularly valuable for those who learn best through embodied repetition and spacious integration.
Higher levels of training are available following completion of this introductory program.

2026 Ski Trips Planning Session
Please Note: - this event is only for committee members and members who have skied with us several times before on previous trips. Any new members, are welcome to attend our club information night at the start of June.
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to hitting the alpine region this winter.
With that in mind, it is high time to prepare for this year's activities. Mark and I will be hosting a pre-season meetup at Mark’s home in Heidelberg.
The committee and any interested members who have skied with us before are welcome to come along and help design the 2026 trip program. The more leaders who can help out, the more trips we can run.
The goals are:
* to confirm any accommodated events are in hand - that is, the dates are confirmed, the venue is booked, etc.
* to give members an opportunity to have input into shaping this year's calendar. We usually use the previous year as a template, and adapt as necessary.
* to get a preliminary expression of interest from people interested in helping run the activities, either as leaders, assistants, car pooling coordinators, cooks, etc.
* to ensure new and existing leaders are catered for, in terms of (mandatory and fully subsidised) first aid qualifications, etc.
* to learn the organizational details of leading a ski trip, including how to manage bookings, responsible trip leadership and other useful information
* any other miscellaneous information or issues which might impact on the 2023 program.
Yarra and Botanics Walk discussing 'I'd Rather Not' by Robert Skinner
We'll meet at the spot where Fed Square meets the Princes Bridge over the Yarra (near the pedestrian crossing closest to the river from Flinders St, on the Fed Square side).
We'll walk for about 6km along the Yarra River, through the Botanic Gardens and back along the river to Federation Square for a coffee after the walk.
This month, we're reading and talking about 'I'd Rather Not' by Robert Skinner.
The blurb:
'From one of Australia’s most wryly funny writers comes an original and utterly hilarious memoir of reaching for the stars while lying in a ditch
*I was sleeping in what might reasonably be described as a ditch, though I tried not to think of it in those terms for morale reasons . . .*
Robert Skinner arrives in the city, searching for a richer life. Things begin badly and then, surprisingly, get slightly worse. Pretty soon he's sleeping rough and trying to run a literary magazine out of a dog park. His quest for meaning keeps being thwarted, by endless jobs, beagles, house parties, ill-advised love affairs, camel trips and bureaucratic entanglements.
Sometimes a book catches the spirit of the times. *I'd Rather Not* is about work, escape and that something more we all need.
'I was told this man came from the Adelaide Plains and so commenced to read his work. By the time I realised I'd been viciously misled and he actually grew up in Magill, it was too late. I was already completely in love with the book. It's an absolute bag of lollies.' —Annabel Crabb
'Robert Skinner writes with humour, intelligence and heart. Pick up this book and you may never put it down.' —Tony Birch
'This book is like a big, properly made gin and tonic drunk outside in a garden on a perfect Saturday afternoon.' —Cate Kennedy
'…no other book brought me as much joy as this hilarious and deceptively artful collection, and in these uncertain times that is worth plenty.' —Michael Winkler
'No one writes better when the stakes are lower.' —Sam Vincent
'My heart leaps whenever I see Robert Skinner's by-line; I know I am in for a hilarious literary treat complete with wry pearlers, gallows truths and wicked timing. People will say he is Australia's Sedaris, but he's not. He's Robert Skinner and he's a bloody marvel.' —Anna Krien
'Brevity may be the soul of wit, but the nimble economy of this slim volume will make readers pine for more. A decidedly skewed, hilarious collection of life reflections and colorful storytelling.' —*Kirkus*
'Seriously the funniest book I've read all year. I can't stop thinking about Robert Skinner's forays into the most mundane and frustrating aspects of life - Centrelink, being a tour guide, applying for arts funding - and the shameless truths he not only reveals about himself but about us as a society. Read this book with a bottle of wine, and be alarmed and enlightened!' —Alice Pung
'If only all books were as funny, human and true as *I'd Rather Not*. I raced through it, marvelling and envious all the way.' —Michelle de Kretser
'Skinner has been compared to Oscar Wilde, but his book is as self-effacing as it is quip-witted.' —Beejay Silcox, *The Guardian* 'The best Australian books of 2023'
'Skinner has been called the Australian David Sedaris and it's easy to see why. Both have the same droll, self-deprecating humour and both mine their own lives for maximum mirth-making potential. [...] a book with a several-laughs-a-page quotient.' –Thuy On, *Arts Hub*
'The funniest book I have read for a long time' —Andy Griffiths, author of *The Treehouse* series"
Goodreads rating: 3.71
How does a walking bookclub work?
Like a normal bookclub, we talk about the book, what else we're reading, have read, or want to read (as well as a few tangents into life outside literature!) but we do it while walking around Melbourne and then over a coffee. We often split into smaller groups as we walk, but we also regroup through the walk.
Should I read the book beforehand?
The conversation will be more interesting if you do, but you can still come along if you haven't finished it yet!
Do I need to bring anything?
**Comfy** walking shoes, drinking water, some money for coffee or a bite to eat after if you wish. No need to bring the book unless you want to.
No shows
No shows (RSVPing yes and not attending) mean the group waits unnecessarily for those who are not coming, thinking you are running a little late. It’s absolutely fine to change your rsvp for any reason up until the walk begins, and you don’t need to leave a comment, send a message or give a reason, but if you don't click that 'change rsvp' button, you may be removed from the group.
Membership Fee
Did you know that while it is free to attend most events, Meetup charges organisers about $600 a year to organise a group? Members of the Walking Book Club are asked to pay a membership fee of $10 per year (not per event) to help cover this cost. When you join the group, you'll be automatically given a three month trial so you can see what the group is like, without needing to make any payment. If you would like to continue attending events after this, please follow Meetup's instructions to pay the $6.50US/approx $10AUD fee once per year (or contact group organisers if you would prefer to make payment using paypal, payID, cash or bank transfer).

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!
