Superhero RPGs

The purpose of the meetup is to chat about RPG stuff, play RPGs together whenever possible, and give Gamemsasters and Players a way to informally meet and greet each other, talk about RPG stuff, and help to facilitate introducing players to games in the area. If you are a GM with open slots at your table this would be a good venue to meet perspective new players. Just post a RSVP and tell the group a little bit about your game so players can get an idea of what you're up to. Or feel free to drop in and chat about D&Dish stuff. If you are interested in alternative RPGs like some Indie Games or Traveler, or whatever version of D&D from Edition 1 onward, feel free to drop in. We're open to any RPG type games. I'll try to remember to have a sign up stating that this is us which will say "Westchester Area RPG Society (WARS)!!", but do look around for us ... Modern Myths is not a huge store, and we generally will be sitting at the tables in the back of the store. Systems are better than goals! This is an idea I first read about it Scott Adam's(Dilbert Cartoon Creator) book "How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big". This concept is further developed in the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. If you've never heard about idea before you might think this is a vague statement. You might be curious as what this idea fully entails. Well, tune into Monday Morning Motivation and you'll find out! I'll give a short synopsis of how you can better use systems in your life to get what you want. \*\*\* THIS WILL BE AN ONLINE EVENT\*\*\* Please login 5 minutes early. We will do brief introductions and get into our topic of discussion for the day. [LONG OVERDUE COVID-19 UPDATE] We've not been meeting in person for a very long time, due to the need to protect our community from undue exposure during this pandemic. With over half a million deaths recorded now and no real end in sight, Monday Night Savages remains on hiatus as an in-person gathering event. Monday Night Savages (called that because, when we started, it was mostly Savage Worlds games we had going) has evolved into all kinds of different games being run. We have numerous GMs, thankfully, and we have them rotating on an every-two-week basis. This means a given campaign or short series will run every other Monday for a while, while the opposite Mondays will feature a different set of games. Hi Everyone, We are looking for more players (and GM's) in our weekly virtual "tabletop" role-playing group (yup, we are once again online, thanks to the winter surge and Omicron. We'll likely get back around a table in the spring). We meetup once a week on Saturdays, from about 11am to 5pm, occasionally there's some minor variation on the time, dependent on the schedules of our players but the game IS on Saturday around that time (please make sure that reliably works with your schedule before responding). At the moment, we're in the midst of re-organizing our group, but we are playing Vampire the Masquerade 5th ed. and D20 Modern (on successive alternating weekends respectively). Btw, if you're in for one, you're in for both please (no cherry picking games, it's a headache). Even if you’ve never played any RPG before it’s ok. Everyone in the group is willing to teach, so don’t worry if you don’t have any experience; that’s not as important as a desire to play. If you're interested in getting more campaign/character creation details, please send me a private message (not a comment below, that won't be sufficient; there's a chance I'd miss it and that would suck). I'll arrange a "virtual" meet and greet session and then we can try to get you into the next upcoming game. Please, don't RSVP the same day as the event and expect to be in the game.
