You won't need the first part - we'll work on the second part only and then combine them at my next class at the beginning of May. However, you can already learn/refresh the first part with the help of the videos in our telegram channel - link at the bottom of this post!** **What you need to bring with you:** **Shoes**: If you'd prefer not to shuffle in socks, please bring a pair of dedicated clean athletic shoes with white soles. **Water**: because Shuffling is like an intense cardio workout :) **Fee**: 10€ (in cash or paypal **after** the event) to cover the cost of the rent, because we're not doing it for profit. What will happen: **Beginner shufflers** will get the chance to learn some basic steps and practice them stress-free in a short choreo. **Intermediate shufflers** will learn to vary these basic steps with additional leg and arm movements, learn to combine them in new ways, keep practicing their foundations, and try to integrate the new combos into their freestyle. Seitai free group session
Seitai free group session
Come join us for a gentle yet powerful Seitai group practice — a space where silence, breath, and spontaneous movement meet. This is a donation-based event, so you’re free to contribute what feels right (from 0€ to (your choice)€). ✨ What is Seitai? Seitai (整体) is a Japanese practice that helps you reconnect with your body’s innate intelligence. Through subtle awareness and guided techniques, you’ll be invited to: Listen deeply to your body through Yuki (a meditative, hands-on practice of sensing and following the breath). Release hidden tension with Katsugen — allowing involuntary, spontaneous movements to arise naturally. Find balance in stillness and movement, letting your body recalibrate itself in surprising ways. Seitai is not about control or forcing; it’s about giving voice to the movements your body has been waiting to express. Sometimes this brings ease, clarity, and lightness. Sometimes it stirs up dizziness, discomfort, or emotions. Every experience is valid — and you are always free to pause or leave at any time. 🌌 Why join? Discover a practice that many find deeply transformative. Create space for release, renewal, and vitality. Explore in community, whether you’re a curious first-timer or already familiar with Seitai. 👕 Practical details Wear comfortable clothes and bring a towel and water to stay hydrated. Bring openness and curiosity. Watchers are welcome — you can simply observe, or dive into active practice. The session is guided, but the real teacher is your own body. ✨ Learn more: 🎥 Watch a short video: https://youtu.be/KF7agFE1zss?si=6UhmjwaIAfBo-_Op 📖 Read more about Seitai: https://seitaibarcelona.com/what-is-seitai/ Everyone is welcome, whether you are completely new or already familiar with Seitai. Bring comfortable clothes and an open mind. 💰 This event is donation-based, supporting the space and allowing us to keep offering it. Private one-to-one sessions are also available at an affordable price. 🌿 Step into silence, breath, and spontaneous movement — your body knows the way. Dies ist eine Veranstaltung auf Spendenbasis, du kannst also frei beisteuern, was sich für dich richtig anfühlt (von 0€ bis (deine Wahl)€). ✨ Was ist Seitai?
🌸Hanami@TV Asahi cherry blossom alley🌸
I highly recommend you to join us from the beginning. 1.) 12:00 - 12:30 pm: Gathering at the meeting spot. 2.) 12:30 - 01:30 pm: Going together to TV Asahi cherry blossom alley. 3.) 01:30 - 05:00 pm. Picnic under cherry blossom trees. 4.) 06:00 - 8:00 pm: Dinner/Drinks at the Kerb (optional). ⚠️\*\*Due to the extremely short full bloom, I might change the date of the Hanami. Please be flexible.\*\*⚠️ **1.) How to find the Manifesto Market:** [https://goo.gl/maps/aSnChzLuE6akyP4F8](https://goo.gl/maps/aSnChzLuE6akyP4F8) This will be only our meeting spot. The food hub is located in "The Playce". The new flagship shopping center of Potsdamer Platz. Most likely we will be waiting next to Kabuki near the stairs leading to the first floor. **2.) Going to TV Asahi cherry blossom alley:** We'll use public transport to get to this place. If you live in the south you can join us directly there. **3.) Hanami at TV Asahi cherry blossom alley:** Bring a blanket, some drinks and snacks. After the reunification of Germany, TV Asahi donated about 10.000 cherry blossom trees to Berlin and Brandenburg as a symbol of peace. The TV Asahi cherry blossom alley is has 1000 cherry blossom trees. Hence, it's considered the most spectacular cherry blossom spot near Berlin. **4\. How to find the Kerb food court** [https://maps.app.goo.gl/xJTQg9oBoGL67syz7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/xJTQg9oBoGL67syz7) Kerb is located at the former Sony Center. The new flagship food court of Potsdamer Platz. Most likely we will be sitting upstairs on the first floor next to the bar (take the stairs to the left). ***Best ways to get there:*** 1\. U2 \(subway\): Get off at Potsdamer Platz and walk around 7 min to Kerb. 2\. Bus M41 or M85 Get off at Potsdamer Platz and walk 5 min to Kerb. *Who is this meetup for:* 1\. Asians who want to practice German and/or English\. 2\. German speaking individuals who are studying \(preferably\) Japanese\, Korean\, Mandarin or Cantonese\. 3\. Anyone who is interested in cultural exchange and wants to socialize\. *What you can expect:* 1\. A professionally organized meetup that can adapt to any changes given the current situation\. 2\. A Walk & Talk to break the ice\. 3\. A collaborating venue where you can further socialize with other members\. *** Whenever you attend a meetup, the most common as well as first question you get is: "Where are you from?" You probably heard this question a million times. Well, at least I did. From my own experience of attending over 200 international meetups in various countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia and Thailand, I can tell you that asking for the name is a better approach. “A person’s name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.” - Dale Carnegie If you really want to connect with like-minded people you should remember their name, but you don't have to remember every persons name you've talked you. Be picky about that, don't be me who can somehow remember everyones name easily. Don't tell yourself sth. like "I'm bad at remembering names." It's all about developing the habit of asking for a name and keep the conversation going on. Furthermore, you want to learn German or any other language. Learning the local language is crucial to connect with the locals and developing a true friendship. This can be accomplished with immersion. My goal is to inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and improve yourself each time you join this meetup.
Labor: Past, Present, and Future – Work, Power, and Purpose
Labor: Past, Present, and Future – Work, Power, and Purpose
**Labor: Past, Present, and Future – Work, Power, and Purpose** Labor is a defining force of human life. It shapes how we survive, how societies are organized, and how power and resources are distributed. Work can provide stability, dignity, and meaning—but it can also lead to inequality, exploitation, and exhaustion. More than just an individual experience, labor is a collective reality that reflects the structure of our world. At its foundation, labor is tied to survival. Like all living beings, humans must expend energy to sustain life. Our bodies and minds are wired for effort, cooperation, and problem-solving. Yet human labor goes far beyond biology—it is structured by economic systems, cultural values, and political decisions that determine who works, how, and for whose benefit. Across history, labor has continuously evolved—and so have the struggles surrounding it. Workers have organized to demand rights, protections, and fair wages, giving rise to unions, movements, and political parties. In many countries, labor movements shaped modern democracy, from the Social Democratic Party of Germany in Germany to the Labour Party in the UK, alongside similar movements across Europe and beyond. These efforts are remembered and celebrated globally on Labor Day. Labor is not only a human phenomenon. In the natural world, cooperation, division of roles, and collective effort are essential for survival—from insect colonies to social mammals. These systems offer a broader perspective on work as something deeply rooted in life itself, while also highlighting what makes human labor unique: its complexity, inequality, and capacity for change. In today’s world, labor is undergoing rapid transformation. Automation, digital platforms, and globalization are reshaping traditional employment. Stable careers are giving way to flexible—and sometimes precarious—forms of work. At the same time, the psychological experience of labor is becoming more visible: questions of burnout, motivation, identity, and purpose are central to how people relate to their work. Looking ahead, the future of labor may challenge long-held assumptions. Artificial intelligence and robotics could significantly reduce the need for human labor in many sectors, while increasing demand in others. This raises fundamental questions: What is the role of work in human life? How should wealth be distributed? And how do we define purpose in a world where labor is no longer central to survival? We will explore how labor has evolved through history—from early forms of work to modern economies—and how worker movements and political forces like the Social Democratic Party of Germany and the Labour Party shaped rights and social change. We’ll also reflect on labor as a biological, psychological, and social experience—how effort, motivation, and cooperation shape both humans and the natural world—and how work today is being transformed by technology, from gig economies to automation. Finally, we’ll look ahead to the future of labor, asking what happens if work changes fundamentally, and how we might rethink purpose, fairness, and the role of labor in our lives. Join us for a critical and engaging discussion on labor—not only as work, but as a force that shapes society, identity, and the future. Together, we’ll reflect on how labor defines our lives today and how it might be reimagined tomorrow. *** 📅 Event Details 🗓️ Date: Saturday, 18 April 2026 ⏰ Time: 14:30 📍 Location: Hardenbergstraße 10, 10623 Berlin 📱 WhatsApp: For prep materials and directions (Group Chat) [Group Chat](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Ba8ZAaH2Yuk6FGmD3LLO7H)
Was "volles Potenzial" bedeutet, ist subjektiv.

**Join us for outdoor grass volleyball in Hasenheide park!** This event is not suitable for complete beginners. We play with two nets. The "chill court" is for mixed-level play with 3v3 up to 5v5. The "competitive court" is for higher-level 2v2 play with beach rules. Be sure to wear suitable sports clothing and perhaps bring a drink. There are no facilities such as changing rooms and showers in the park. A nearby public toilet is also available, but it might be closed, dirty, or not have toilet paper. **Location**: We play in the narrow clearing, located between the two paths in the center of Hasenheide park, on the southern side. Updates will be posted in the WhatsApp group, which you can join via [https://tinyurl.com/ParkVolley](https://tinyurl.com/ParkVolley) **RSVP**: Put yourself on the waitlist, even if other people are already on there. The waitlist is not chronological, so even if there are 30 people on there, you still have a chance! If you get a spot, you will be moved to the attending list and notified by Meetup. This is a free event with limited space. **If you can't make it, promptly update your RSVP to NO** so others can take your place. If you do not show up or cancel last minute, you will be marked as a no-show, reducing your chances of getting off the waitlist in the future. **Payment:** This event is free, but you are invited to make a 2 EUR donation towards equipment. **Attending**: Do not join if you have an infectious disease. You need to be on the attendee list to attend; **being on the waitlist is not sufficient**. Meeting №4. AI: Between Techno-Optimism and Techno-Pessimism
Meeting №4. AI: Between Techno-Optimism and Techno-Pessimism
Artificial intelligence is evolving at an extraordinary pace and is already reshaping how we work, learn, create, and make decisions. Some see AI as a powerful tool that will enhance human potential and solve global problems. Others warn about risks: bias, automation, loss of control, and long-term societal impact. In this meeting, we will explore AI from both perspectives — techno-optimism and techno-pessimism. What can AI actually do today? How does it work under the hood? Where are its real strengths, and where are its limitations? And how should we think about its future development? We invite both professionals and non-professionals to join the discussion. Whether you work with AI, study it, are simply curious about it, or approach it from philosophy, psychology, sociology, or everyday experience — your perspective is welcome. ## **Preparation & Suggested Materials** To help you prepare, we’ve put together a curated reading list that includes books, research papers, articles, interviews, and practical guides. The world of AI moves fast, so alongside well-known books you will also find recent articles and research projects. You don’t need to read everything. Choosing one book, article, or even a short explainer is enough to take part in the discussion. This month's prompt concerns the idea of the “warrior philosopher” (seemed appropriate in these times)--that is someone whose understanding of violence, power, and justice is forged through direct experience of war. We are looking at Major General Smedley D. Butler, a highly decorated U.S. Marine raised in a Quaker (pacifist) tradition who later became a prominent critic of American militarism (there is a wonderful biography of Gen. Butler called "Gangsters of Capitalism") Butler's argument in *War Is a Racket* (1935): that many U.S. interventions were driven less by national defense than by corporate and financial interests, with Butler portraying himself as an enforcer for business and Wall Street. We can consider the moral ambiguity of his insider critique—whether complicity strengthens or undermines credibility and also consider some of the concrete reforms he proposed (e.g., “conscript” capital before soldiers, restrict the military to coastal defense, and have only those who fight decide on war). Butler’s life arc clearly changed from pacifist upbringing to warrior to antiwar crusader—and asks whether true understanding of peace requires firsthand knowledge of war, and what that implies about the cost of suffering. So do we need to suffer to understand suffering? Do we have to experience war to appreciate peace? As one more question: in the movie "A Few Good Men" Jack Nicholson's character says that "you have the luxury of not knowing what I know" so do most of us go through life oblivious to real violence and suffering? See you at Drunken Philosophy!

AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation? We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
