❄️ SNOWSHOEING AT LEAMY LAKE! ❄️
詳細
PLEASE READ THIS EVENT DESCRIPTION THOROUGHLY—LIKE, EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. 📖
I will NOT be answering questions already covered here. If it’s in the description and you ask anyway, I’ll assume you’re testing my patience or my ability to copy-paste. 😉
Alright, winter warriors! Last year’s snowshoeing hike in Gatineau Park was a vibe, so why not bring it back—but this time, closer to civilization lol. If you’re down for another snowshoe adventure (aka: strapping tennis rackets to your feet and calling it fitness), come along!
Same plan as last year: since there’s no free winter shuttle, we commute to the site.

## MEETING POINT DETAILS 🏞️
Group Commute:
For those who do not drive and would like to travel together, we will meet at 12:00 PM (noon) inside the Museum of History, at the main entrance. I will wait there for approximately 20 minutes. The plan is to catch a bus around 12:30 PM, with an expected arrival at the Leamy Lake Centre around 1:00 PM.
Important: I will not wait longer than 20 minutes at the museum. If you miss the group departure, you will need to make your own way and meet us at the destination.
P.S. The OC Transpo Route 8 to Gatineau stops at the Canadian Museum of History, which is our meeting point.
Driving / Arriving on Your Own:
If you are driving or prefer to travel independently, please meet us at 1:00 PM at: Centre de plein air du Lac-Leamy, 100 Atawe Street, Gatineau

## TRANSIT TIPS 🚌💰
As indicated above, we will meet inside the Canadian Museum of History. From there, we will walk to the bus stop and aim to catch the 12:30 PM bus.
Please note that we will be using the Gatineau transit system (i.e., STO) to reach our destination. While PRESTO cards are accepted, the system can occasionally be unreliable, so I strongly recommend bringing exact change just in case.
The fare is $4.50 per trip, so please make sure you have $9.00 total for a round trip.

DISCLAIMER 🛑 (AKA: LET'S KEEP IT REAL)
Your safety = your responsibility. Winter activities are fun, but they can also be… how do I say… a little spicy in the danger department. Here’s the deal:
• Risk Acknowledgment: By signing up, you recognize winter adventures involve risks. If you get injured, that’s on you—not the organizer. Know your limits!
• Dress The Part: If you show up dressed like it’s a mild fall stroll (no gloves, no real boots, nothing insulated), I am not stopping the hike to rescue you. You’ll need to head back on your own. Winter doesn’t play—and neither does this event.
• Fitness Requirements: To make sure everyone enjoys the outing, please note that we’ll be keeping a steady, brisk pace throughout the hike. As the organizer, I won’t be slowing the group down — so you should feel comfortable walking briskly for a sustained period without needing frequent breaks.
If you find the pace a bit too fast once we’re on the trail, that’s totally okay! You’re welcome to continue at your own comfortable speed, take breaks when you need them, or finish the route at your own rhythm. The most important thing is that you feel safe and enjoy the winter scenery — even if that means completing the trail independently from the main group.
• Health Considerations: If you have a serious medical condition (e.g., heart issues or low cardio fitness), please skip this one. Your health > this snowshoe trip.
• No Tight Schedules: If you know you'll be in a rush to be somewhere afterward, don't sign up. I can’t promise an exact finish time—goal is to wrap before sunset, but Mother Nature manages the schedule, not me.
Let’s make this a fun, safe, drama-free, frostbite-free adventure! ❄️✨
Come for the fresh air, stay for the laughs—and maybe the post-hike hot chocolate. ☕😉
