What we’re about
Whether you are new to Ottawa, looking to expand your social network or just looking for things to do in the Ottawa area, this is the group to have fun, meet, and socialize with new friends. We have many different activities scheduled each week including hiking events, movie nights, social outings, wine tasting events, sporting events and much more.
We cater to active, social people who are around 20-40 years old looking for interesting things to do in the Ottawa area. If you have an event idea, please feel free to message me with it!
Costs: To join the group and attend most events is basically FREE, BUT we ask if you enjoyed the group, help us keep it going by making a small donation to help cover the costs associated with running such a large group like paying off the Meetup fees of $300/year.
Group does partially get funded by charging a lil more on some activities, mainly those that require booking ahead, but no worries there's something for everyone. And there's always the donation method.

This is it, folks—our FINAL hike of the season! The journey has finally come to an end 🫣!
DISCLAIMER 🛑: Please DO NOT sign up for this advanced (difficult) hike if any of the following apply to you:
- You cannot walk briskly (4-5 mph) for at least 45 minutes without needing rest. Note, I will not wait; if you fall behind, you'll need to catch up with the group or finish the hike on your own.
- You do not have proper sports or hiking shoes. Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes or hiking boots, and bring sunscreen, bug spray, lunch/snacks, and a refillable water bottle.
- You have a serious medical condition (e.g., heart problems or poor cardiorespiratory fitness).
- You will be in a hurry to get somewhere. I cannot guarantee the exact finish time, but we will be done before the last shuttle arrives.

- I will not respond to any questions that are already answered in this post. Please read it carefully!

📍: Gatineau Park (more details below)
🕧: 10 AMTRAIL DETAILS:
As promised, we are finishing this hiking season on a high note with a difficult hike 🤪😜!For our final hike, we’ll tackle Trail #1, which is sure to give your legs a good workout! The hike will start at Trail #1 and end at the Mackenzie King Estate. We’ll begin at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre, taking the shuttle to the start of the trail, then head to the Wattsford’s Lookout and finish at Mackenzie King Estate. This hike should take around 1h and 33 min (6.1 km).
Trail #1, starting from Old Chelsea, is an exceptional walk/hike. It is rated as a Black Diamond trail, meaning it’s hilly and can be difficult for those who aren’t well-conditioned. The first 3 km are steep, hilly, and challenging, but well worth it if you're up for the task.
Itinerary:- Gatineau Park Visitor Centre → Trail #1 → Wattsford’s Lookout → Mackenzie King Estate
- *Depending on what time we make it back to Mackenzie King Estate, I may revisit one or two of my favorite trails: Pink Lake and/or Champlain Lookout to enjoy the Fall colours 🍂🍁.
MEETING POINT DETAILS:
🚏: Once again, we'll be using the NCC free shuttle service 🚍🌸. No reservation is needed, but spots are limited—first come, first served. As per usual, we'll meet directly ON THE BUS! There are two meeting spots, but you can catch the shuttle from wherever you want:
- Ottawa side: Pīndigen Park at 10 am
- Gatineau side: Canadian Museum of History at 10:10 am (I’ll be at that stop)
Note: The shuttle may arrive slightly earlier or later than expected. If it arrives early, feel free to board. We’ll meet at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre.
For those driving: Be aware of possible road closures. I’ve never driven to Gatineau Park myself, so I can’t answer questions about parking or closures. Please check the NCC website for updates on parking and road closures—it’s your responsibility to plan ahead!
