This meetup is for anyone interested in going to English-language Buddhist meditation retreats at a temple near Tokyo. The retreats are held over two or three days at a Zen Buddhist temple in Saitama prefecture. The next retreat will be from May 3 to 5, 2024. The temple is about 90 minutes by train and bus from Ikebukuro Station in Tokyo. Anyone interested is welcome to participate. The retreats are suitable for beginners and anyone who would like a brief taste of temple life. The total cost excluding transportation is 20,4000 yen. This cost includes all accommodation and vegetarian meals during the retreat. A deposit of 5,000 yen is required to reserve a place.
