Each week after a short meditation, we will explore some of the main ideas of Buddhism. The goal will be to help people become aware of the mistaken ideas about reality that create suffering and replace them with ones that align with reality and lead to wisdom and peace of mind.

Join us for a nourishing, gentle yoga class that blends mindful movement, breath, and presence to open the heart and cultivate loving-kindness toward ourselves and all beings around us. A class for all levels and abilities; all you need is an open heart and a willingness to pause and just be.
Bring your yoga mat, or chairs will be provided. Yoga is not all movement; it’s the message between mind, body, and spirit. Expect breath awareness, gentle postures, and guided intention-setting to invite connection and calm. Come as you are. Leave feeling lighter, connected, and at peace.

Loving–kindness and compassion are the basic desires for happiness and freedom from suffering. Even simple experiences—like shifting the body to a more comfortable position—are manifestations of loving-kindness and compassion. Though they may not always be expressed skillfully, these qualities are present in each moment. Once we recognize them in our own experience, we can nurture these qualities in ourselves. In time, we can extend our impulse to be happy and free from suffering to all beings. In our next curriculum session, we will continue to deepen the spark of loving kindness and compassion, which was so apparent in the thoughtful discussions we had last week.

1. Deepen your practice with group sitting.

2. Simple format: Two silent sitting periods, with mindful walking to mindful stretching in between. There will be a brief sharing and dedication practice as we end.

3. Minimal verbal instruction offers the opportunity for individual practice.
