Intro video for this workshop here

Your attachment style is mostly shaped in the first 18 months of your life. About half of the world has a secure attachment style, and half have an insecure attachment style. Insecure attachment can cause tension, distrust and suffering in our relationships. You’ve probably read about attachment styles, or done your own work already.

Fortunately, it’s possible to move from insecure to a more secure base, called "earned security". In this full-day workshop I want to share three pillars used to build secure attachment, based on research in psychology by Dan Brown and David Elliot 🧠. They are:

  1. Ideal parent imagining
  2. Metacognitive skills
  3. Collaborative relationships

This interactive workshop will include short talks, meditations, somatic practices and partner exercises for each pillar. These are powerful practices – some more intense than others, that require vulnerability – and that are all about finding safety in the present. (and of course, all practices are optional)

You can expect to leave with:

  • a clearer understanding of attachment patterns (and your own)
  • practices you can do at home
  • real-world strategies you can use in relationship
  • hopefully, at least a couple “ohhh… that’s what’s happening” moments

Moving towards secure attachment takes time, energy, and an intentional approach. It can’t be done in one workshop – but you can get the ball rolling and just might have some real insights. :)

⚠️ Important note: I am not a therapist. If you're unsure about this workshop, we can have a chat about it but please talk to your therapist beforehand.

👤About Me: My name is Misha Yurchenko and I’m a certified mindfulness teacher, psychospiritual coach, and founder of Tokyo Mindfulness. I’ve been working with my own attachment patterns for years — through therapy, coaching, self-inquiry, and (especially) intimate relationship. This work has been genuinely transformational for my wellbeing and happiness. I’m also a husband and father living in Tokyo, so I get the pressure of work, life, love, and nervous system overload. I’m excited to share these practices with you.
