グループの特徴
The Hash House Harriers are an international group without any formal rules or organization that was founded in 1938 with tens of thousands of members and groups in most major cities.
It's a social running group (we have many walkers as well!) that focuses on the social element. This is why we welcome slow runners, power walkers, or just plain walkers.
We meet every Thursday and on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month. Anybody can join by showing up at the designated meeting point of the day.
We urge you to join. If you have questions, just turn up and ask them.
We aim to bring together people who want to socialise, enjoy nonsense and have a bit of exercise at the same time. It's a great forum to meet new friends. There are all shapes & sizes, races, ages, intelligence and fitness levels.
We cater to young and old, fast or slow, fit or 'not-so-fit'! The main prerequisites are a sense of humor, willingness to meet new people, open-mindedness, tolerance and a general sense of fun. We are mainly English-speaking but most of us can speak (some) German.. the annoyingly clever Swiss members are typically fluent in many languages!
There is always alcohol and snacks at the end of our poor excuses for runs (covered by 5CHF), along with non-alcoholic alternatives for the real athletes and those who just prefer not to.
Plenty more information can be found on www.zh3.ch and on the Meetup information page or each event (which usually has a loose theme, but are all pretty similar involving following/finding trail (the route) using markings on the ground).
If we do not accept your Meetup request immediately give us some time, we will be on-on it shortly. Don't be afraid to just turn up and complain in person if this happens to you. You will be more than welcome.
Any questions? (how would you like my finger in your ear?). If that amuses you even slightly, you will fit in perfectly!

This week's awesome hares are CheesM and Premature C*cks*cker, and the front runners will be you!.
The opening of the Stadttunnel at Zurich Hb will be this Thursday. Some events will be set by the city of Zurich to commemorate this big event. A live trail will be set around this tunnel of love. The hares provide the tunnel, you need to bring love.

Zurich Hb Lockers - Look for English speakers wearing running gear. When:
We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm.There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards.
All Welcome:
If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know:
• Physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humor is useful.
• The aim is to find the 'Beer Stop' at the end of the 'trail' and have fun.
• 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running) and some over-achieving fast runners will go further.
• The 'Hare', which changes each event, cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time.
• There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change.
• After Trail, we group for ~30-45 minutes for drinks, snacks and some fun. This 'Circle' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). Why bother leaving your warm sofa?
If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing.'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (Hashs) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - or you can just come along and find out. See you there.
We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.
