Hello! I am a solo developer building Som-Yee, a 3D Hangeul learning app designed to make the first steps of learning Korean feel like play.
This project began when I saw my international friends struggling to take their first steps in Korean. While Hangeul is logical, the way characters combine can be overwhelming for absolute beginners. I thought: Instead of struggling with a textbook, what if people could learn Hangeul like they are playing with blocks?
In Som-Yee, users assemble characters in a 3D environment, naturally grasping the structure without the stress of memorization. As this app is specifically designed for beginners, I believe the most important step right now is listening to the voices of real users who are just starting their journey.
