UW Volleyball Concessions Benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Huskies Concessions - LLS Fundraiser

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer at the University of Washington in a concession stand. In exchange for volunteering you will be treated to free food and soda, coffee or bottled water.

Minimum Age 18
No Experience Necessary
Training on site

What to wear - Black Pants (any type from jeans, chinos, basketball length shorts, cargo, yoga - please ensure no holes) comfortable closed toe shoes (you stand for your shift NO FLIP FLOPS). A shirt will be provided but if you have either an LLS shirt or a UW shirt, you're welcome to wear it. It will get hot in the stand so plan for short sleeves (there is room to stow away your sweatshirts/jackets.)

What will we do - We will run the concession stand and a portion of the proceeds from the stand goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

What types if positions are there - Cashiers, popcorn popper/bagger, nacho assembly (made to order chips & cheese), pulling pretzels from warmer and dispensing cheese into cups, placing hotdogs in buns, ancillary things include dispensing soda, pouring coffee, and then the not so fun parts (which are minimal) after event clean up - minimal dishes, wiping counters down, stowing reusable items.

When we volunteer our motto is we're saving lives one nacho, hotdog, pretzel, beverage at a time. Are you ready to have some fun!!!!

Why should I volunteer - We encourage you to get out, meet new people, make new friends, contribute your skills or willingness to learn while making a difference for those affected and afflicted by cancer. AND, if time permits (or on your break) you will be able to watch part of the sporting event.

Reminders:
Arrive 3:00 pm - wear black pants (any type) and closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals)
Finish 7:00 pm ish

No experience required. Must be 16 or older and COVID-19 vaccinated.

Please do not commit if you don't think you can make it. LLS is charged $50 for each no show out of their donation as there is a minimum number of volunteers required for the stand.

If this day doesn't work for you, there are many more sporting and special events coming up.
