Sling Blade (1996) Discussion - "I like them French fried potaters, mmm hmmm."
상세정보
Sling Blade (1996) has been circling my short list for some time and there were a million reasons to get it on the docket. It put Billy Bob Thornton on the map and won him an Oscar for the screenplay. It's also the film's 30th anniversary year and features a lights out performance by Dwight Yoakam, whose day job is singing but he dabbles in acting too. Any of these are reason enough, but it was Robert Duvall's recent passing that finally pushed this gem to the top. Although he's not the lead, in fact he has very minimal screen time, Duvall makes a memorable and impactful appearance reminding us why he was one of the best. Next week Karl will be hosting Network as his tribute to Duvall which features him in a much larger supporting role. For my tribute, I'm keeping it small. Really excited to talk about this one and hope to see you there!
