Zijn wereld stort in, terwijl het leven doorgaat. De gefictionaliseerde jeugdherinneringen van Neuer Deutscher Film-meester Hark Bohm – en een belangrijke bron voor zijn latere werk. Amrum, in de lente van 1945. De twaalfjarige Nanning woont met zijn familie op de Duitse Waddeneilanden.
