Hello, My name is Jim.

I started this group in 2011 and was the 19th Meetup Group in the area at the time.

Most groups were just doing one thing for events and I wanted to start a group that fulfilled my desires to share many types of events with people.

My hobbies and interests will be made into events for:
Cinema, Live Theater, Sporting events, Dining, Cycling, Golf, Wine Tasting, Cultural Activities, Fairs, Concerts, Trade Events, Geo Caching, Road Trips, Fitness, Camping , Learning events or classes, Festivals, amusement Parks and travel both in the USA and outside along with any other fun things I can think of and have free time to list and share with others that want to get out and do something fun.

I do ask that all potential members please upload a facial photo / head and shoulders photo of yourself - facing the camera / no hats / no sun glasses / art work / numeric names .. so that other members will know whom you are at an event and I myself will know who to look for.

Telescope Clinic at the Veen Observatory

Telescope Clinic at the Veen Observatory.

When:
August 22nd 2026

Where:
Location shown to members only.

What Time:
Arrival 7:15 p.m. to park and gather the group together.
7:30 p.m. the telescope clinic starts.

Costs:
$5.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids 17 and younger - Free for kids under 5 years old.

DETAILS:
Our August 22nd Public Observing Night will be preceded by an optional telescope tune-up clinic promptly at 7:30pm, free to visitors with paid admission. Bring your personal telescope to the observatory no later than 7:30pm for expert alignment and tips for effective use.

***NOTES***
This event is weather dependent, no event will happen if there are major clouds or bad weather.

I will update this as the day unfolds and let you know as the Observatory tells me.

Dress for temperatures as you will be outside and inside for displays and two indoor telescopes.

KIDS VERY WELCOME TO ATTEND.

The entrance to the parking area is a small driveway that usually has a a-frame sign next to you but may not so please slow down and look for the driveway.
