Barrier Lookout - Strong Beginners are welcome!

Details:
Distance: 14km RT. (estimate)
Elevation gain: 500km.
Pace: Moderate
Destination: A fire lookout with gorgeous views of Barrier Lake and the surrounding mountains, including Baldy, Porcupine ridge, Wasootch ridge.
Driving directions: Trans-Canada (Hwy 1) North to Hwy 40. Turn left at Hwy 40 and drive to the Barrier Lake parking area (sign) on right. Park at the potties next to the lake.
We will stop periodically for rest stops and to enjoy the views. This may not be the right hike for you if you want to race to the destination or if you don’t want to stay with the group.
What to bring:
MICRO-SPIKES are mandatory. Poles, bear spray, snacks, layers, plastic bag, spare shoes to change, plenty of water AND.....sense of humor!
CARPOOLING: If you wish to arrange your own carpooling, please use the comments section below to offer or request a ride. Once initial contact is made final arrangements can be made through private messaging. Suggested gas fee contribution is $10. Please be considerate of your driver’s car and bring a change of shoes and plastic bag for dirty footwear.
