I love a documentary and watch them indiscriminately. It's true, they're not all gems but I'm rarely unsatisfied after watching one...I can't always say the same about movies. My entry to go up against Karl's selection of The Act Of Killing for our Doc-Off will be Tickled (2016). Yes, I consider this one to be a gem and it nails the WTF vibe I'm striving to hit for 2026.
As the poster states, it's not what you think. If you've seen this one you understand. If you haven't, just settle in and watch. The less you know going in the better.
Both Karl's and my documentary selections are international and elicit a strong WTF response but for very different reasons. Curious to know which one you prefer!
Tickled (2016) is streaming on HBOMax, Hoopla, Kanopy and Fubo and is also available to rent on most VOD platforms.
