UX Designer

Musicnotes.com is seeking a User Experience Designer who enjoys collaboratively creating an exceptional customer experience across several platforms including: the web, iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows applications. A typical day may include both working on long term projects independently or within teams. Your contributions will include:

  • Working closely with the User Experience Director to bring business ideas to life from mockups or wireframes, designing graphics, and coding HTML, CSS and some JavaScript.
  • Partnering with managers and external business partners to understand customer needs and business requirements.
  • Completing integrations within the scope of industry trends with regard to front-end technologies and techniques.
  • Participating in both the graphic and user experience design of interfaces for our web, mobile and desktop app products.
  • Designing each assignment with the user experience in mind.
  • Maintaining Musicnotes’ standards for the highest possible quality, ease of use, and consistent look and feel.
  • Communicating status and risks to managers and partners.
  • Collaborating with partners and engineers to test and refine designs.
  • Providing excellent level of customer service to our internal and external team members.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or related discipline OR applicable experience
  • 1-3 years of web design experience.Passion for elegant design and simplicity.
  • Knowledge of front-end web standards technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript frameworks such as Bootstrap and/or LESS/SCSS.
  • Expert in design software (Photoshop/Illustrator).
  • Understanding of version-control systems.

Web Developer/Software Engineer

Musicnotes.com is seeking a Web Developer/Software Engineer who has a passion and talent for engaging in the design, development, and testing of the Musicnotes website. We are a collaborative, “can do” team that is collectively as passionate about music as we are about code! Your contributions will include:

  • Design, development and testing of web based solutions;
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions;
  • Maintain an understanding of current and emerging Internet related technologies;
  • Provide excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers; and
  • Engage fellow team members in building and maintaining a collegial, respectful and creative cross-functional development environment within the Scrum framework.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline OR applicable experience;
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming in .NET 4.0+ (C#) and Visual Studio;
  • Experience with core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP);
  • Experience with SQL Server 2008/2012/2014;
  • Experience with modern version control systems (Mercurial, Git, Subversion, etc.);
  • Experience with OR/M frameworks (Entity Framework, nHibernate, Hibernate, etc.); and
  • Is a proven team player in a cross-functional environment and possesses the ability to maintain focus on established business goals.
