Program Overview:
Challenges of decomposing a massive front-end using micro-frontends
Our web UI application is pretty big - hundreds of people have been actively building it during the last eight years. We started facing scalability issues and technological limitations. We evaluated plenty of options and settled on micro-frontends. This evening we will discuss:
- Differences between various micro-frontend architectures
- Why we made this choice and if it's helpful for you
- What we gained
- What we sacrificed (yes, there are downsides)
- What challenges are still ahead of us
Speaker: Oleksandr Tryshchenko
Staff Engineering Lead in FreshBooks. Leading three teams in the company and helping to materialize large technical initiatives, one of which is UI decomposition with micro-frontends.
Truly Typed-safe full-stack apps with tRPC, Zod and Tanstack Router
Productivity in software development comes in different shapes and sizes. Lately, productivity for me came from having an end-to-end typed stack for building applications. End-to-end? From the database to the front-end including backend (APIs), endpoints (we don't need those), Input validation, routing and more. This talk will guide you in the world of advanced TypeScript with tRPC, Zod, Prisma and the Tanstack Router.
Speaker: Davy Engone
Davy is a software engineer and an entrepreneur who's building education tools for developers at Hackages. He loves sharing knowledge and learning from everyone. If he's not coding, he's spending time with his little boy and his fiancée.
