π€ Talks:
Monorepo - To use Versioned Packages or Local References
When you're working in a mono-repo, is it better or worse to refer to packages locally... I.e. Should import { someFunction } from '@vandebron/package-a' come from the packages/package-a directory or should it come from a versioned npm or GitHub registry? I have a strong preference to publish packages to registries and pull the versioned package as a dependency but there are definitely cons as well. I'll give a demo of the two different setups and try to make it as empirical/measurable as possible (by showing things like a breaking change and getting metrics on things like bundling time).Speaker: John Fisher, Frontend developer with a background in a number of backend languages. Currently working with React and React Native as a Staff Engineer with Vandebron. He enjoys running, cycling, and bouldering. You can find him on the weekend walking through Oud-West with his dog, RrugΓ« who is probably searching for food scraps on the ground..
How ES15 is going to change the way you write code
Finally the next version of ES15 is here, what's new? New ways to write functional code, new API to manage dates and time, Atomics, Tuples, improved unicode handling and much more! This will help us understand the new standards that are coming to JavaScript and help us write cleaner and more resilient code.Speaker: Meet Liron Navon, a proficient software engineer at AvantArte, specialising in React and Golang development. With a wealth of experience in full-stack development, Liron's expertise extends to the React, Node, Bun, Astro, Go, Next.js and Web3 With over 10 years of experience in the Industry. Join him to learn about the new core features that are coming to JavaScript in ES15.
