How creating a bounty helped us advance FinOps
Last year NN Group hosted an event called FinOps Summer Championship. They had teams sign up and during a 2 month period work consistently on implementing FinOps practices that led to savings. They put up a reward for the winning team consisting of “real” money that the team could spend on an activity (go karting / paintballing / wine tasting etc.). This helped reduce their cloud spend tremendously with just 11 of the 20 teams turning in results. It’s a great story to show a non-conventional approach to FinOps with great results for NN Group.
