Resilience engineering in a microservice landscape by Maurice Zeijen:
During this talk, you will learn how the largest online retail platform in the Netherlands achieves fault tolerance. I will discuss why resilience is important and I will demonstrate how applying resilience techniques, like bulk heading, load shedding and circuit breakers, can save your day as well. Finally, I will share our experiences from applying these techniques at bol.com (http://bol.com/).
Maurice has over 10 years of experience as a Java software engineer. He has worked on and maintained a wide variety of software, including the bol.com (http://bol.com/) webshop, backend applications, middleware solutions, big data processing and many different kinds of microservices.
He joined bol.com (http://bol.com/) in 2012, where he is now a hands-on software architect, specialized in resilience engineering.
