🌿 Hidden Gems of Doorwerth | Castle, Forests & Spectacular Rhine Viewpoints

Join us for a beautiful and varied hike through one of the most scenic natural areas in Gelderland. This circular adventure takes us through ancient forests, rolling hills, peaceful river landscapes, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the Lower Rhine.

Along the way, we’ll discover the historic Doorwerth Castle, explore the beautiful Duno Estate, climb to the Boersberg Lookout Tower, and enjoy panoramic views across the Rhine floodplains. We’ll follow peaceful forest trails, pass hidden natural springs, and experience one of the most picturesque hiking routes in the Netherlands.

Expect a relaxed and social day outdoors, with plenty of opportunities to take photos, enjoy the scenery, and meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

• A beautiful circular hiking route through Doorwerth and the Lower Rhine landscape

• Approximately 13 km | Moderate level | Good fitness recommended

• Around 3.5–4 hours of walking at a relaxed but steady pace

• Approximately 120 metres of elevation gain

• Forest trails, riverside paths, rolling hills, and scenic viewpoints

We’ll meet at Doorwerth, WKC De Weerd bus stop before starting our hike. The starting point is easy to reach by public transport and only a short walk from the hiking trail.

The exact meeting location will be shared with all participants before the event.
