On February 8 the Denver Art Museum will debut a new exhibit titled "What We've Been Up To: People", a selection of photos from the museum's collection never before shown to the public. Apart from viewing the exhibit, the purpose of this meetup is to take one or more photos that either show someone interacting with a photo in the exhibit or art elsewhere in the museum or in which your photo's composition is influenced by the museum object. This second option can be a photo taken elsewhere or even in the past.

We scheduled a similar visit to the DAM last year in August with good participation and excellent results.

After the visit we'll have time for golden hour photography in the general area of the museum, which contains much distinctive architecture.

As a bonus, February 8th will be the last day for seeing the fabulous and exclusive "Pissarro's Impressionism" exhibit. If you'd like to visit that gallery, there is an additional $5 charge and you must reserve a timed entry on the DAM website. Do it now before the tickets are gone!

You can also complete the photo assignment in the Pissarro exhibit if you like. There is sure to be a good crowd on the last day, insuring many subjects.

The museum permits cameras in the galleries and public spaces as long as flash is not used. You can also use a mobile phone camera if you prefer to be more unobtrusive. Tripods are not permitted. We can use each other as the subject interacting with a work of art if you're more comfortable with that approach.

We'll meet inside the entrance to the Hamilton (south) building, the one with the angular shape, at 2 PM.

A good place to park is the Cultural Center Parking Garage just across the walkway in front of the museum. The vehicle entrance is on 12th Street just west of Broadway.
