Synopsis:
Summer, 1990: After the fall of the Berlin Wall, a communist family discovers a bunker full of money soon to be worthless. With the help of their neighbors, they embark on a race against time to enter the capitalist world in style.

When they hear they still have a few days to use the GDR money. They devise a clever little plan with which they intend to outwit capitalism.

Director Natja Brunckhorst, who played Christiane F. in the eponymous film over 40 years ago, scored a huge hit in Germany with this light-hearted, self-written GDR comedy, a nostalgic story based on true events. Starring, among others, Sandra Hüller, Max Riemelt and Ronald Zehrfeld.
