Drawing inspiration from the traditional Macedonian folk tale of a boy transformed into a bird, the documentary follows a farmer named Nikola as he navigates the isolation of a changing rural landscape. After his family emigrates in search of better opportunities, Nikola finds companionship by nursing an injured white stork back to health. Their unlikely bond serves as a poignant reflection on family, identity, and the enduring connection between humans and the natural world.
