Synopsis:
In this drama, nature appears to dominate people’s lives.

Rietland is written and directed by Sven Bresser, who leaves a promising impression with this feature film debut. When cane cutter Johan finds a girl’s lifeless body on his land, he is struck by a vague sense of guilt. While caring for his granddaughter, he searches for answers and tries to track down evil.

Reedland was selected for La Semaine de la Critique, the Cannes section dedicated to new talent, where the film received praise from the international press. It was the first time in 27 years that a film by a Dutch director was shown there. Additionally, Reedland is the closing film of the 45th edition of the Netherlands Film Festival.
