Join OPEN's online Discussion Circle for an unstructured and informal conversation around the weird and wonderful world of psychedelic experiences and non-ordinary states of consciousness.

There is no set topic for our Discussion Circles. Instead, the conversation will naturally evolve depending on the people gathered. Some of the topics that have come up in the past include: the reasons why people work with psychedelics, what is integration and/or integrating experiences from a recent trip, what is microdosing, what is the nature of the universe, harm reduction, etc.

Since what we end up talking about is driven by whoever joins, consider bringing a question or idea to propose for group discussion! (And no pressure-- we'll bring lots of ideas too.)

This is meant to be a safe and comfortable space both for seasoned journeyers to connect with others on a similar path, and for people new to psychedelics who want to listen to and/or ask others about their experiences.

Due to the nature of the meeting, to encourage transparency and community connection, we ask participants to turn their video on, at least to say hello at the start! We may ask participants without working cameras or microphones to join us when their device is more functional and they can be more present.

Space is limited, so if you sign up to join and then find later that you cannot make it, it would be great if you can update your attendance so another person can join in your stead.

A Zoom link will be posted in the comments below, and emailed to attendees via Meetup (email settings must be enabled), shortly before the meeting begins.

Explore the ever-growing world of psychedelic literature with OPEN's online Reading Group!

For these events, a short text will be selected in the weeks leading up to the Reading Group online meeting, and a PDF version of it will be provided to you. These texts will vary greatly in style (book excerpts, research articles, opinion pieces, magazine articles, etc) and content. Our goal with this event is to give our community members an opportunity to learn about psychedelics and altered states of consciousness in a more structured way, while connecting with others who are curious and excited about the research being done on these topics.

Attendees will be expected to show up having read the text, and we will take 60-90 minutes to discuss our thoughts about what we read. We want to stress that you don't need to have an academic background to attend. If you want to take down some notes about what you found interesting, confusing, contentious, or inspirational about the reading, that's great! But you will not be quizzed on anything—this is chiefly about getting curious and having fun!
