Over ons
PSP is a social group for Liberal and Progressive singles. Meet like-minded people who share your beliefs! We're not trying to be a dating site... just provide a social avenue for liberal-minded folks and events where you wont feel awkward because its mostly couples... or a bunch of MAGA's.
This is a social group first, so we have a mix of purely social events plus some advocacy and cause-related events. We especially get active around voting cycles to help elect smart people.
PLEASE submit your ideas for making this meaningful and I'll certainly need help with suggestions and creating events and event hosts. And please message me with ideas for the types of events you would like to see.
It's hard enough to find someone compatible, so while we're looking for "the one", let's at least have some fun and meet new friends who share our dissatisfaction with the current political climate and share our passion for freedom, civil liberties and social equality.

cheatriveroutfitters.comThings To Know
· All of our trips are fully guided. Each raft will have an experienced and certified guide. Inflatable Kayaks, a.k.a Duckies, will have a guide alongside the trip to help and show the way.
· The type and size of the raft are chosen based on the water level on the day of your trip. Mother Nature is the boss and controls the water levels. Typically spring trips are all in rafts. Summer trips may be in a combination of rafts and duckies. However, there will be times when we offer only rafts or only duckies. No matter the setup, our excellent guide staff will help direct you down the river.
· We raft rain or shine! You will be wet anyway. Please dress appropriately for your trip. More about what to wear for your trip is below.
· Trips begin at the trip time shown on your booking. Please arrive in time to be dressed for your adventure, sunscreen up, car locked, bathroom up, and ready for a safety briefing at your designated trip time. Generally speaking, plan to arrive 30 minutes before your trip time. (EX: 10 AM Cheat Canyon Trip = 9:30 Arrival) Please note: If you are not here at the trip time, we will not wait, and you will forfeit all money paid. Your credit card will be charged, and there will be no refunds or trip credits. That said, please allow for drive time, construction, accidents, and getting lost, especially if you have not been to the outfitter before and are not used to driving on West Virginia roads. We have a lovely property right on the banks of the Cheat River, so feel free to arrive early and enjoy the peace and quiet.
· We require all guests to sign a liability release. A parent/guardian release is required for participants under the age of 18. Please follow the link in the email titled "Action required for your booking" to complete the waivers. All liability releases are entirely electronic, with nothing to print out. Just forward the link or QR code to all your group members. All waivers must be completed before arriving on-site for your adventure.
· You can use your car as a locker for all your stuff. We have a bucket to collect keys and keep them safely tucked away while you are on the river.
· This day on the river is an excellent opportunity to unplug from technology. Cell service on the river is spotty at best, and rafting and phones do not mix, so we recommend you lock your phone in your car or another safe location. We will have a photographer taking pics you can view after your trip.***
What To Bring
· Clothes for the river: In cooler months, you will likely want to rent a wetsuit ($11.50). Under the wetsuit, you will want to wear a bathing suit or snug synthetic clothing (think Under Armor tights) and possibly a fleece top under the wetsuit on really cold days. Wool, synthetic fabrics (fleece), and athletic materials are best. STAY AWAY FROM COTTON. Cotton will rob you of your heat. Remember you will get soaked on the river, so wear something you don't mind getting wet. In the warmer months, many people wear a bathing suit with shorts or a T-shirt.
· Shoes for the river: Any shoe that you don't mind getting wet that will stay on your foot is good. We suggest sneakers, water shoes, or sports sandals. Flip-flops, slides, and Croc-like shoes are not recommended. We have wetsuit booties for rent ($6) and several varieties of water shoes for sale.
· Sunscreen: Apply before heading out on the river. Consider wearing a ballcap under your helmet for extra protection.
· Bottle of water. Sodas and water are provided after the trip on the bus ride back to the outfitter, but you are welcome to bring a bottle of water if you want to hydrate before or during the trip. Water bottles can be left on the bus or taken on the raft.
· Any medication you may need: inhalers, EpiPen, and the sort. We carry a dry first aid kit with us and are happy to keep your stuff dry.
· Dry clothes to change into after your trip. We have indoor bathrooms and changing rooms but no showers.***
Lastly, A quick word about traveling in rural West Virginia…
· Sometimes the GPS units and Google Maps send folks on a wild path to find us. Especially coming from the East on I-68, you may be directed to get off an exit early and wander through the backwoods of WV, where you will wonder when you will have a cell signal again so you can call and get unlost. That being said, please check a map before traveling, and if coming from I-68, get off at Exit #23 (Bruceton Mills) and head South. You will see Cheat River Outfitters on your left in 13 miles. Really, we are easy to find.***
We look forward to seeing you soon!
