Sunday Fat bike Ride @ American Fork
Details
I'm planning to ride the American Fork Canyon as snow conditions supposed to be good for the fatties (finally!), specially after the latest storm and hopefully trails will get groomed by the weekend.
From the parking/gate we'll climb the road all the way to Summit. From there wave the options according to snow conditions but most likely we'll descend on #159 and then connect to Salamander towards the Timpanokee campsite, from there climb on Timpanoke rd and descend on #180 for a final decent on the main road back to the cars. As I said I'm very out of shape so I'll do my best to keep with the group.
Disclaimer: Chances you will crash once your front tire goes off track or hit a patch of ice, but it is part of the "experience" ...lol.
This Ride should be around 11-12miles and 1800ft of climbing, the majority of the group will dictated the pace, the climb to summit it is a grind for sure 😊
Be at the trailhead READY TO RIDE at 8:50am. You want a bike with 4-5" tires on it. The trails are snow snow covered, and you'll need the flotation of the larger tires. I’ll ride at my own pace. No drop ride, we'll re-group at the different intersection. It is going to be on the colder side so dress up accordingly.
Hope to see you there!
I ride a blue Surly Moonlander and I drive a Red Honda Ridgeline
