Wat we doen
The Amsterdam Culture Group is about getting together and exploring the city's cultural life. This group is for people who want to take advantage of what the city has to offer and meet like-minded people in the process. We visit art collections, concerts, films, theatre, cabaret, and undertake a wide array of other cultural activities. Although there might be occasional exceptions, the primary language is usually English.

The Kröller-Müller Museum is a place where things of beauty come together. The unique combination of art, nature and architecture guarantees visitors a truly unforgettable experience. The museum boasts the second-largest Van Gogh collection in the world: almost 90 paintings and over 180 drawings. Furthermore, you will also find masterpieces such as Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picaso and Piet Mondriaan. In the sculpture garden, one of the largest in Europe, you can enjoy both sculptures and nature.
Helene Kröller-Müller was a German art collector. She was one of the first European women to put together a major art collection. She is credited with being one of the first collectors to recognise the genius of Vincent van Gogh. Her entire collection and forested estate is the Kröller-Müller Museum and sculpture garden and Hoge Veluwe National Park, one of the largest national parks in the Netherlands.
The museum has a considerable collection of well known paintings by Vincent van Gogh, such as "Café Terrace at Night" and "Sorrowing Old Man (At Eternity's Gate)." Apart from the Van Gogh paintings other highlights include works by Piet Mondrian, Georges-Pierre Seurat, Odilon Redon, Georges Braque, Paul Gauguin, Lucas Cranach, James Ensor, Juan Gris, William Degouve de Nuncques and Pablo Picasso.
The museum has one of the largest sculpture gardens in Europe, within the forest park, of more than 75 acres (30 ha) and home to over 200 sculptures by prominent artists such as Aristide Maillol, Jean Dubuffet, Marta Pan, and Pierre Huyghe, with a fine collection of modern and contemporary sculptures. The collection includes works by Auguste Rodin, Henry Moore, Mark di Suvero, Lucio Fontana, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, Fritz Wotruba, Joep van Lieshout and many more. The sculpture park also has two gorgeous, 1960s pavilions by Aldo van Eyck and Gerrit Rietveld, that were given a new home.
The Museum has loaner white bicycles (gratis) to tour the park.
We will meet at the front of the Museum entrance at 2 pm (1400), to check in, for introductions and orientation, and enter the museum together. For those who would like to join me for a drink, we will meet at 3:30pm (1530) at the museum information desk and take a short walk over to Museum Café, for refreshments and socializing, a pleasant way to end our Meetup. I am looking forward to meeting you! I welcome you to join me for a drink afterwards.
The Museumkaart is accepted.*
