Hello again! After a long hiatus, the Monday meet up at Nanny O’Briens is back! We’ll have some games to play, but feel free to bring your favorites as well. Stop by for a game and a drink, and say hello! We’ll be in the back room. Other info: Nanny O'Brien's is allowing us to use their back room for some board game socializing. Please reciprocate their generosity by purchasing food and drinks. Free street parking starts at 6:30 in most areas (make sure to read the signs). If you're taking the metro, take the red line to Cleveland Park and walk two blocks southwest on Connecticut (we are located next to CVS).

The code to access the gym will be sent to people who have registered shortly before the event. The code should be entered at the second door (furthest from Whitehaven Street) at the building opposite the main entrance of the school. There is limited on-site surface-level parking available, as well as street parking around the facility. The underground parking lot off Whitehaven Street costs $5 an hour. As always, participation in the volleyball is undertaken at the participant's own risk. Our monthly meetings are where we look at what's happening in the near future for ourselves and other veterans in the area. This is also a great time to share ideas and give input about how VFW 3150 operates. You must be a VFW member to attend this meeting. If you are not a member feel free to show up before the meeting with your proof of service. We can sign you up and get you started on your way to a fulfilling VFW membership. If you are already a VFW member but not a member of 3150 you are still able and welcome to attend these meetings. The only thing you will not be able to do is vote on issues. Los Lobos is one of my Top Favorite Bands. They have an eclectic mix of Rock, Folk and a Spectrum of Latino music. I’ve seen them live a bunch of times and the band and the crowd are a rousing lot of fun. I have a ticket for the April 19th. That show sold out and so the April 20th show was recently added. If anyone is in for the April 20th show, I will pick up a ticket for myself for that night, as well. I just might anyway. The Birchmere is the finest music venue I have ever been to, and since moving to Alexandria, I have been there about twenty times. The sound system is the finest I have ever heard at a venue. Even on my own, I find that it is easy to make friends at virtually every show. You can dine before or during the performance. The food is pretty good; the staff is outstanding.
