Ohio Wines Fall Tasting and Potluck
Details
Ohio has many excellent wines, especially in the Grand River Valley about forty minutes east of Cleveland. Through hybrids, French vinifera grapes such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, even Cabernet Sauvignon flourish. Domestic grapes such as Traminette, Chancellor, Chambourcin, and Marquette make great taking wines. Wines range from dry complex reds to fruity, sweet wines. We are going to enjoy this harvest season by celebrating the wines of our state and home cooked entrees brought by you.
Each person brings an Ohio grown wine, a wine glass, and a dish for potluck. It would be best to bring a protein; meats or cheeses as they will go better with the wines. I'll have plates, flatware, napkins and water.
Ohio wines are available in a few stores in Central Ohio. I found Grand River Valley Wines from Debonne, Grand River Cellars, Ferrante and others at Chateau Wines on Sawmill. Call your favorite shop and ask what they have.
Our event is graciously co-hosted by Dana K. at her fabulous clubhouse at Sycamore Woods, Gahanna. Parking at the clubhouse is tight. It's best to car pool or at least meet up at 765 N Hamilton Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230 and travel together to the Clubhouse. There is also limited parking in the development at the intersection of Sycamore Ridge Way and Sycamore Wood Lane. Then walk to the Clubhouse.
Attendance and Liability Waiver Policies are in Effect. Update your reservation if your circumstances change.
