January Virtual EEA London Meetup
Details
Welcome to our brand new virtual EEA London Meetup!
We're starting off the year by welcoming 2 very special guest speakers, Daniel Burnett, Executive Director of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and John Wolpert, co-founder of the Baseline Protocol!
We'll be providing break out rooms during the event to make sure that you have the opportunity for networking.
Schedule
5pm - Welcome from Conor Svensson
5.15pm - Daniel Burnett will provide an overview of the EEA and talk about the progress that's been made since he joined as Executive Director in July.
5.45pm - Break out sessions - an opportunity for networking
6.15pm - John Wolpert - The Baseline Protocol in Multiparty Workflows
If you run a business, what records do you need to share with your partners, buyers, suppliers, regulators and auditors? How often do you discover that your records have information that turns out to be inconsistent with your counterparties? And how often do bad things happen as a result? What are these mistakes costing you? These are the questions that drive the Baseline Protocol, an open source public standard for enforcing consistent record-keeping between legally separate entities that is in development within the venerable Oasis standards body. Come learn how the protocol employs the public blockchain -- not as a database but as an integration bus -- what benefits that brings for industry, and how the protocol allows companies to keep sensitive information where it belongs...in their traditional systems of record and off the blockchain.
John is co-founder of the Baseline Protocol: https://docs.baseline-protocol.org with EY, ConsenSys, Microsoft and a fast-growing number of notable companies.
He co-founded IBM Blockchain and Hyperledger Fabric and is now working with Joe Lubin and ConsenSys to make Web3 a practical reality, where protocols and platforms like Fabric, Corda, Tendermint, Truebit and others work together and avoid 'blockchain balkanization' by coordinating state through the Ethereum mainnet.
