National Western Stock Show Parade

This free event is a kickoff to the stock show and features cattle, horses, cowboys, wagons, and marching bands. The parade route begins at Union Station and runs up 17th Street, concluding at 17th & Glenarm. The parade begins at 12:00PM.

We will assemble an hour earlier to capture the preparations and the crowd gathering, then find a spot somewhere on 17th Street to photograph the parade itself. Our meeting point will be at the flagpole in front of Union Station at 17th and Wynkoop. After the event we can gather in the station to warm up and socialize.

A wide angle lens (such as a 35mm) is useful while mixing in with the crowd viewing the parade, but a zoom lens such as a 24 to 70mm or a 24 to 120mm will be more helpful during the parade itself.
