Synopsis:
In the midst of a painful divorce, Clémence realizes she no longer recognizes her life. Seeking freedom, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery that leads to a sapphic love affair.
Her ex-husband uses this against her in a custody battle for their child. Anna Cazenave Cambet adapts Constance Debré’s autobiographical novel with sensitivity and precision. Beyond its commentary on homophobia and sexism, the film offers a moving reflection on motherhood and freedom, a modern Kramer vs. Kramer in French form.
