RE: [newtech-1] collecting business debts

Susan, if it’s a onetime deal, consider the amount and whether it’s worth your time. Depends on what you are responsible for revenue wise. I otherwise recommend a good lawyer that will take this on in exchange for a portion of it. Personally, I’d give this away to my lawyer in exchange for retainer on locking up my business such that this doesn’t happen again. I can recommend someone offline that has done this kind of work before.

However, if it’s more than 1 incident, consider taking a closer look at your billing practices.

I am not sure how freelancers need a collection agency. A topic for debate I guess.

Regards,
Alex

Subject: [newtech-1] collecting business debts

This topic has come up before, and I saved a message recommending D&B collection services.  However, D&B has stopped offering these services.  I would like to find a company that will do the job without being sleazy -- hopefully this is possible.  Has anyone worked with a good collection agency?

Susan
