Take Control of your Power BI Premium Deployment

Power BI Premium offers organisations a dedicated solution with increased data size and refresh limits, along with other unique capabilities such as Paginated Reports, Dataflows and AI.

A common mistake is to assume that Premium will take care of scale and performance issues all by itself. In fact, with Premium we are in control so we need to carefully monitor and govern the capacity. This session aims to answer two common questions that Premium customers have: "Why are my reports slow on Premium?" and "Do I need more capacity?"

We'll learn how Power BI Premium prioritises workloads and how to use the Capacity Metrics App to answer the above questions and take control of your capacities. There will also be a sneak peek on engineering plans for performance management across the Power BI ecosystem.

Speaker Bio:
Bhavik Merchant is a Power BI specialist and end-to-end BI and Analytics professional with experience across cloud and hybrid deployments. After 13 years in Perth, he moved to Microsoft HQ in Redmond, USA to join the Power BI engineering team where his focus is performance optimisation. Prior to the engineering role, he was a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft who helped Tier 1 enterprises in Australia design and implement large analytics solutions with Power BI and Azure. Before Microsoft, he gained over a decade of deep hands-on experience with the entire Microsoft data stack, including managing consulting teams and delivering structured training.
